i just downloaded it off soulseek and i think its ok.
I like SQP's fun drum n' bass like Tundra the most out of
all his stuff.

i have go plastic as well and truly enjoy it. they make a
nice contrast, MIR1N and go plastic that is.

very impressive album..it where he goes all out to wow you
with his Jazz chops..actually I find a lot of scapes and
textures in Go Plastic a natural progression from Rotted to
Plastic..

Laquero, this is one of my favorite SP cds, that's besides
"Feed me weird things",and is his most experimental within
the freejazz style...It's just too great the way he produce
it..Do you know some of the drums were done live in his
studio, but most of them were sampled from old jazz
records??????

if it weren't for all the backwards drums you might be able
to convince someone it is an actual jazz band

i would probably have to say a mix between Feed Me Weird
Things, Big Loada and Hard Normal Daddy.

yes yes YES!

Music Is Rotted One Note is AMAZING!
one of my favourite squarepusher releases!!!
(i love them all too much to rank them by number.... but
(depending on my mood) its almost always among my favourite
FEW from him)

i love the fucking atmosphere in that... so dark and
weird.... formless..... the production is great too

i agree w/ J and the B:
Music Is.. and Go PLastic contrast each other VERY nicely...

remember, theres a track on Music... called "Don't Go
Plastic"...... and that whole thing is very.. i dunno, alive
and organic.. definitely NOT plastic sounding
then Go Plastic is the music gone completely artificial
and.. well, plastic!

im sure he meant it to be that way.. but i wonder if he
planned ahead for that to happen at the time of Music.....
or just decided it would be cool when he made Go Plastic

Yes AMinal,TomJ is like that,he loves to play with
everybodies mind...That's why he sometimes,musically,is
contradictory, just because he loves to experiment too
much...But everything that comes from his wicked mind is
just incredible....Brain Damage!!!! a good one by the way:)

Laqeuro, you got very nice taste on SP,those 3 r on my
top,but have to say,Feed me is 1,Music is rotted is 2,big
loadda is 3,then his last 3 recordings, including of course
his Untitled release this year.......

i think it's fun listening to FMWT and listening to Go
Plastic and listening to how much Tom has progressed over
the years and how much influence richard has had on him.

And still,he doesn't sound like RDJ...He had developed his
own sound and tha's good for him as an artist...Because like
RDJ,whenever you listen closely to the music you will be
able to distinguish who's who and I really appreciate
originality on those artists.......=)

and dont forget the influence Tom has had on Richard as
well..I think it's a very symbiotic relationship

and

AMinal..yes yes that's exactly what I was trying to say but
you said it so much better... a natural progression..from
Dont Go Plastic..to Go Plastic...

noone mentiones chunks, that is a great song. It's good
chill track, the beats are nice and loose but steady. It
then progresses nicely into track 2 which is more
experimental but has very nice melodies.

also burningn n tree has a lot of jazz.

I think this is one of his best...very very nice and I like
it more every time I listen to it. "My Sound" is probably
one of the best tracks, even though it's very sad (it's my
"I have just broken up with my girlfriend and now I'm not
depressed, but I'm lonely and pretty bored" song) my
favourite is "Theme from Vertical Hold" though - I see
objects floating in midair. whole CD's pretty good though,
even the "junk" tracks add to the vibe.

Feed Me Weird Things remains at the top of my fave SP
releases list though.

no problem, VampireAngel! I certainly hope that those were
good recommendations for you! my faves from Feed Me
are "Squarepusher Theme", "Tundra", "Windscale 2", "North
Circular", and "UFOs over Leytonstone" (though the whole
album's great, and every time I hear the "Theme from Ernest
Borgnine" it grows on me more.) there's something oddly
familiar about Feed Me - I keep wanting to compare it
to elementary school and watching those old films on the
crusty projectors.

yeah, I heard "Central Line" which I believe is from that
album. that song rocks my socks. it's a "get the up off your
arse, lighten up, and get working, life's good" song. in
fact, I think I need to hear that right now. :)

VampireAngel, how true! I was intimidated by some of the
more sarcastic/outright mean people at first, but I've found
that if you are nice and helpful to the people, they'll
return the favour. it's great, because this way we all have
our collective pool of knowledge about music. :-D
