So who's trying to get all of the AE titles at the top of the MB list?...own up...I thought I'd gone to the wrong site for a moment....;)..
Anyways...don't know if you noticed the news over at AE.NU...phobs posted a link to a nice little site that covers their releases in some detail...Still reading it but it seems pretty cool so far...
it's at http://lonelymachines.org/autechre.html....

ha..thought someone was up to something...;)..
...AE have grown on me more & more over the years...their early stuff wasn't really outstanding enough for me; bit too similar to other stuff around at the same time but they've certainly developed a lot; mid period onwards is essntial stuff....
AE vs AFX is an impossible one to judge; isn't really worth trying as they appeal to slightly different sides of myself...AFX is just such a MAD talented WILD motherfucker whilst AE are more reserved & colder; mechanical, mathmatical.....
Viva la difference!!...we should consider ourselves lucky to have 2 such outstanding artists really...

phew...just finished reading that...
Overall I kinda agree with more or less everything he says....His writing style doesn't try to over-analyse the actual music which I find is the one main problem with music reviews...I'd much rather read this sort of carefully written guide than a dozen magazine reviews, (which always seem to rate stuff as either 100% Brilliant or 100% Shite...)...music mags are a bit of waste of space anyway; far better to follow your ears especially as nowadays now we've got MP3s, & can try before you buy....you really don't need to pay someone to tell you what they think is good especially when it's adverts (by people being reviewed) that pay the wages; unhealthy really...
mind jand rant over...
...Good place to point people when they ask "What AE should I buy next?"....

I wouldnt send anyone there jand, their analysis is far too biased against the later albums.

Do you mean biased against the earlier albums?...
I kinda agree with him tho, Glitch...early AE is simply not as AE as the later stuff...if someone was new to AE, they do better to get some mid-period stuff (like tri-rep)... he's really not that hard on the early stuff, he explains why he doesn't consider em as strong, that kinda tallies with my thoughts really.....
