Anyone hear of this?!! Nsync's Lance Bass is going into
space, heres the article i read:

On Wednesday morning it was reported that 'N
Sync wannabe astronaut, Lance Bass, 23, was ready, willing
and, most importantly, able to zoom into space on a Russian
rocket, reported Reuters. But by Wednesday afternoon,
reported the Associated Press, the Russians were saying nyet
so fast. "The Russian Aerospace Agency has had no contacts
whatsoever with Mr. Bass," agency spokesman Konstantin
Kreidenko told the news service. "We have received no
requests from either him or his representatives, not to
speak about signing any contracts." Through David Krieff, a
producer seeking financial backing for Bass's purported trip
(which carries a $20 million fee), it was said that Bass
recently underwent an unexplained surgical procedure to
correct an unexplained heart irregularity but had been
informally pronounced physically fit enough to make the
journey. "He's in top physical condition, top mental
condition," Krieff said from Los Angeles, according to
Reuters. Krieff went on to say that next week Bass was due
to commence a nearly six-month flight training program at
the cosmonaut center in Russia's Star City. But according to
Kreidenko: "Anyone has the right to undergo tests in the
Institute of Biomedical Problems. But that doesn't mean that
such person is considered to be a candidate for space
flight." Furthermore, the clock is ticking on who will get
to go, given the preparation time involved. The AP, saying
that it appears no space tourist will join the trip, notes
that Bass is scheduled to hold a press conference later this
week to clarify his intentions.

There's an article in todays Guardian about it...they seem
to think he's going altho their is some competion for the
spare seat...

I half thought I was dreaming when I read the
article...Front page news was all about Pakistan & India
juxteposed with fucking NSYNC going into space...

(The funnist bit is Mr Bass trying to play it up as an
artistic adventure...)

yeah, they should use that spare seat on another real
astronaut to try and accomplish something in space instead
of on that Lance fag. All it proves is that in our society,
all people apparently aren't equal since money, above all
else, is the deciding factor in every situation. Fuck the
world.

Oh my god, is that for real? I know that Dennis Tito guy
paid for a seat on some Russian shuttle into space, and that
was insane... and now they're taking a POP star up there?

I wonder how many years it will be before the general public
can get up there... imagine seeing the earth from space, I'd
piss myself.

They should send all of N Sync into space. Without a crew.
That would rule

according to a PR on some music website, the Russian Space
Agency has denied having any idea he wanted to go up, and
have no paper work or money to prove that his intentions are
real.

Been around for a while that his ass wanted to go into
space, seems tons of pussy, infinite pools of money and fame
aren't enough for Mr. Bass.
