Does anyone have this for their PC yet? I've been hearing
nothing but praise and very complimentary reviews.. Seems
it's sort of an innovation as far as electronic RPGs go. My
computer's a bit old for that sort of thing so I was
planning on buying it for my Xbox when it comes out next
Wednesday. Anyone else planning on doing the same?

I don't really like either of them too terribly much.
In fact, there really hasn't been a FPS that I've thoroughly
enjoyed in a long time. Someone recently recommended
Serious Sam which I played and thought was a serious pile of
shit.. I think maybe I'll give Jedi Knight II a try.
Halo was a lot of fun while it lasted. Especially in
cooperative mode on some of the harder skills.

-Is anyone else sick to death of all this Squaresoft crap?
Seriously, if I have to play one more game as another
sinew-endowed dickslap I'm going to puke all over my
carpet.
I play videogames to immerse myself in a fantasy world not
to remind me of what a dork I am in real life.
It's the same reason I never enjoyed the Space Quest
series.. Roger Wilco was such a douch face.

me too, i HATED serious sam!
ive never seen such a STUPID game... it had all the worst
stereotypical qualities of stupid action games..... and
people ate it up for some reason

i have (and LOVE) Jedi Outcast... the gameplay itself is
good... but its the fact that u get to use a lightsaber and
the force that make it amazing! (for me anyway)
i mean.... A FUCKING LIGHTSABER!
no other game can match that...
if u like star wars ull like it for sure

if u want to be lost in a fantasy world... (and who
doesn't!) then i highly recommend the Thief series of
games..... (1 and 2)... they were both EXCELLENT, AND
original!
they are probably some of the most original 'FPS' games
made, imo
not the usual blow em up, find the key shit..
and the atmosphere in them is simply amazing...... play it
at night alone and u will get SOOOOO into it... very, very
well done

(yes, i realize this has nothing to do w/ Mrrowind, but i
cant give up a chance to promote one of the best and most
over looked games ever!)
system shock 2 is from the same developer and is also
excellent, again, some of the most amazing atmosphere in any
game

I agree, both the Thief games and System Shock 2 were
wonderful.. I also liked Deus Ex. To me, the gameplay
itself is the most important factor in determining if I
enjoy it or not.
Graphics aren't really that important to me.

Videogames are like women... Except not really.

lol!

true...... except, not really ;)

but it IS the gameplay, not the looks

I'm sure Jedi Outcast will be great, thanks for the
recommendation. All the previous games in the series were
all tip-top and LucasArts has a pretty good track record,
especially with the Star Wars games...well... not including
Rebel Assault 1 & 2, Desktop Adventures, and a few of the
newer ones I never playedf..
Dark Forces was actually the first computer game I ever
bought. I remember staying up until 3 in the morning... and
my dad walking out in his underwear yelling at me.
Wow, that really detracted from the nostalgia.

[/start transmission 0054]

Deus Ex was badass...

I hear Morrowind is sweet...

Have you heard of this game Neverwinter Nights? Its D&D
(thrid edition) only in 3d and you can have a real Dungeon
Master who creates worlds and story plots for other
players.

Yeah, I have heard of it.
Unfortunately my computer can't handle anything post
Half-Life so I'll have to check it out on a friend's some
time.

Did anyone hear that interview with John Carmack of Id
software and Trent Reznor?

game..

thats cool...

I didnt hear that interwiew, but i heard that john carmack
and reznor where friends, and carmack convinced him to do
the soundtrack for doom III, wich i allready thought would
rule before i heard that. i think that new engine will
revolutionize a bit of things!!! =)

Thanks! Sounds like it's actually living up to all the
hype. I'll make sure to pick it up next Wednesday at
Electronics Botique.

Yes, I'm starting to think that Doom III will make a crater
of equal or greater depth on the gaming community than the
original did so many years ago... The engine is jawdropping
from what I've seen so far, especially the advanced realtime
lighting.
The Reznor/Carmack interview is available at the Wired
homepage for download or streaming audio if you're
interested in hearing it:

Morrowing blows me away.

Leave it at that, the most open ended, do it yourself RPG
EVER. The graphics with a good card are mind blowing, the
water, the cloud textures.

You can do whatever you want. Really, whatever the hell you
want to do. It takes work, and you need to keep at it, but
when you get rolling, it is pretty damn rewarding. Top 5 of
this year.

btw Top 5 refered to my PC top 5 of 2002.

Yeah, Doom 3 looks cool, but it will be at next years E3
also, it is quite a ways away. Still, those
graphics........sex

I'm going to be running it on an Xbox so I'm sure there will
be plenty of mind blowing graphics... I heard it's actually
going to be quite a bit better for the Xbox. No user
created mods as on PC but Bethesda is sure to release some
of their own via console game magazine discs or internet
once the broadband capibilites are utilized.

Morrowind fansite(Xbox) :
http://www.angelfire.com/hi5/freemoney/morrowindxbox.html

There's an exclusive interview there with an anonymous
surfer that attended E3. He discusses his impression of
Morrowind's performance on the Xbox.

But mind that the first couple of hours or so, youll just be
walking around with your mouth open, because its so vast.

And the quests are pretty well done two.

If you like rpg´s theres no getting around morrowind.
Class..... =)
