I read somewhere on this board a while ago that AFX and some
others were playing at the Victoria + Albert Museum in
London sometime in August... Does anyone know if this is
true, and if so, where I can get tickets?

dirty little bitch on 2001-07-13 11:42 [#00014823]

hello chimp,
yer it is true.i'm gonna be there myself (hopefully).
there not much info on it.
it's mentioned on the warp site, but that don't say much.
the V&A site don't say much either as it only has stuff
about events this month. i even e-mailed the museum (twice)
but have had no replies.
i'm sure thing will become clear soon though......

Cheers. I'll keep my eye out. I don't understand HOW they
intend to 'play' the V+A museum though... Maybe we'll all be
dancing on ancient greek statues.

I too will be going to that when I find out when it is on.

Will it be a night time do or not.

I think I may use it as an excuse to consume to narcotics.

I know this practise is not big or clever, but it will be a
special occassion.

i don't think it's a 'big up your chest hardcore rave-up'
thing, more a chilled out thing, i think it finishes about
10:30pm or something.
don't hold me to this.....

Chimp Systems from Flat Mountain on 2001-07-13 11:50 [#00014831]

Phukit, I'm going to be off my margin on medicine. Last time
I saw AFX I had loads of whizz. I don't normally touch the
stuff (I'm more of an E man, me) but it enabled me to follow
all his snare patterns like some crazy brain-boosted
cyberboy. Ace.

As a contingency plan I shall bring a few walkmans with some
gabba.

I will issue these to those who are under the influence of
Disco Biscuits.

I hope loads of old people go to this also.

Chimp Systems from Flat Mountain on 2001-07-13 11:57 [#00014835]

Mr Teeth: Have you got the Hellfish + Producer album on
Planet Mu? If you like Gabba you'll fucking love that, it's
bangbangtastic with a side order of hip-hop. If you've
already got it then... err... you know all this already.

Chimp,

I will check out that cd.

I am a fan of a man called Neophyte and someone called
Oliver Chesler.

Check out a french bloke called La Petse for some nice
complex harcore / darkcore.

I find him to be very similair to aphex / autechre but more
complicated and harder. What more can a man / woman / eunuch
/ fox ask for ?

Nasty sounds are brilliant, beats should be made illegal as
dancing is difficult, I always run out of dance moves.

Wizards Teeth on 2001-07-13 12:10 [#00014838]

as Saturday Night Fever Dance techniques are not acceptable
at a Rave.

dirty little bitch on 2001-07-13 12:26 [#00014845]

the v&a thing is on 31st august.
there is another thing in london that rdj will be doing.
on 3rd august he can be seen doin' his thing along with andy
weatherall at one of the haywire sessions. i think that this
night will cater more for those willing to be suspended in a
state of chemical imbalance.

Cool. Cheers for that... I think I will attend both, but
maybe save smashing my braincells out for the Haywire thing.

I am not affraid to say that I believe some music does
require drugs for optimum pleasure.

After experiencing the songs whilst on drugs it is possible
to continue the understanding of the music whence not on
drugs.

I am sorry for those who disagree.

rubbish john on 2001-07-13 12:51 [#00014858]

don't apologise wizard. i'm with you on that.
i often make tunes when i'm smashed out of my own face on
drugs.
sometimes it helps..
