I suggest you try to open those realplayer-files with
winamp.

It works for me sometimes...

Maybe you need to associate the MP3 format with winamp. You
can do it in Winamp by doing this: rightclick --> options
--> preferences -->file types --> select MP3.

unfortunately, with macs there is no such thing as a right
click. and, for that matter, i'm pretty sure winamp was
written for windows OS. alas, these macs are all i have
here at work. thanks anyhow.

try drag & dropping the downloaded files to quicktime player
(or another player capable of reading mp3s)... or use
resedit to modify the type/creator items in "info"...

and btw in macOS right-clicks are ctrl-cliks.

Use iTunes if you have it. I'm assuming you're running 8 or
9 and not X. There's a small control panel called
DefaultApp which you can download and run whcih allows you
to associate any file type w/ a certain application. You
can get it here: Default App

Realplayer sucks, especially on Mac. They don't even have a
player for OSX yet.
