But I saw worse stuff as a parttime janitor in the Uni
Morgue. I used to have to sweep around with all of these
dead bodies all cut up and sliced. Most of the time they
were covered up but sometimes they weren't. Bye Bye dinner
that night. But I couldnt avoid the room with all the jars.
There was this one with a guys head. Whole on one side and
sliced in horizontal sections on the other. All of these
sections like floating in formaldahyde. Like slices of ham
or bacon. It was soo messed up and strangely beautiful at
the same time. I didnt want to , but couldnt help but look
every time I had to be in there.

No lunch for me today then. :(

Oh man... I'm actually really interested in death. I love
hearing disgusting stories (like ouchbot's!) and being
creeped out...

But the thing is I don't have the stomach to actually LOOK
at things like that... can't look at Rotten or Ogrish or
Faces of Death... I'd pass out!

Strangely enough gruesome death pic's are becoming
appalingly mainstream. Used to be you bought things like
Amok and RE/Search books for a fill of the ghoulish desires.
No they are allover the place in Magazines like FHM,
Bizzare, even loaded. And not just death but every
grotesque mutated disease riddled horror you can imagine.
Hate to admit it, but I get FHM for that very reason. I
mean beach blanket bimbos are a dime a dime a dozen. Every
magazine has them. But FHM gives you Sex AND DEATH.

Faces of Death is actually really really tame -- they just
make it seem dark and macabre.

I've seen medical videos where I work that will more than
likely leave a mark on your life.

Faces of death is tame to a lot of what ive seen on the net
and on video that my friend or I had back in the day. I
remember when rotten opened, and I remember goregaller
before rotten.... old skool stuff. Been somewhat into this
stuff for about 6 years.

Its not that bad, its just a cult classic.

Is it illegal/underground? I once saw footage of some kid
get runover by a train on the internet but I'm not sure it
was real.

I don't know it's illegal.
It should be!

but I do know it's DISRESPECTFUL!

the kid fan over by a train could be faces of death, and
f.o.d. IS real.

sick!

when my wife was still in High School, some teacher thought
he would have street cred by showing them one of these mondo
documentaries - including some magician getting iced by a
big spikey thing -- if i ever see that motherfucker, he'll
be starring in his very own death-documentary, courtesy of
me and my axe...

...personally, if anyone actively seeks out a mondo film --
someone who actually gets a kick out of seeing another human
being dying before their eyes, someone who voluntarily sees
another's cessation of existence for "entertainment" (or
tries to blag it as being "research" *&tc), then i think
that person is a pathetic excuse for a sentient being... btw
jonesy, i don't think they are illegal in the UK any more -
i know they released the executions video, and another mondo
film

c'mon you probably like horror films which is someone
mocking up a gory murder or death/killing - you probably
support the attack against afghanistan whiich has killed
many thousands of civillians - and activley seeks to kill as
part of it's mission -
but you're going to kick someone in for watching a video
nasty cos it frightened your wife -
do you really thing people get actual *joy* from those
things the feeling is alot more complicated - teh fact that
you feel violent towards someone who displayed theatrical
violence to your wife (violence that isn't even real) is
really illogical and odd

01) if i watch a horror film, (gore films i am talking
about) i watch to appreciate the special effects, or to
enjoy the particularly bad directing/FX - there is a
difference between watching a real death and a movie death,
don'tcha know

02) i do NOT support the US attacks on afghanistan

03) i was deliberately ironic when i said her teacher would
be starring in his own death-documentary

04) yes, people get joy out watching these things - just
like some people get joy out of fucking animals, fucking
children, slitting throats, and lots more - yes, emotions &
feelings are complicated

Faces of Death are fake.

My friends sister was executive producer for one of them.

Pay attention to the credits at the end.

fucking kids and slitting throats is a bit different from
looking at some morbid or horrific images on the internet

Hmm, I'm actually really interested in this Faces of Death
thing... it's like a car wreck, it's sick and everything,
but you're going to stop and look anyway... not because it
gives you joy...

But I know if I downloaded that video, it would sit on my
hard drive unwatched because I have no stomach. A shame,
because I'm intrigued... I'm not opposed to it, but I can't
watch it. Bah.

faces of death and most of the other so called snuff films
are well documented as being fake ...
it has more to do with the presentation and circumstances -
even the tools of the physical acts

it's the same principle - you said you doubted if anyone got
any joy out of watching them - i showed examples of things
one would normally not expect joy from --

offline core from London (United Kingdom) on 2002-05-31 17:52 [#00244676]

actually, faces of death are mostly real, not fake. some of
the clips i was unfortunate enough to witness a few years
ago have been reported extensively elsewhere and confirmed
as real events, so i have no reason NOT to believe that the
rest of the clips are real.

and yes they are fucking sick and left a permanent mark on
me and upset me badly, and i'm a 32 year old 'bloke'.

i agree with marlowe, that although ophecks is right about
the morbid curiosity thing, anyone who get's off on watching
these films is a fucking waste of space.

finally, one more point: i was totally disgusted back at
christmas to discover that HMV in London were stocking VHS
copies of 'Executions', a video compilation of real human
executions from around the world.

i'm fucking disgusted that this sells as entertainment.

rant over.

it's a completley different thing - one is a non consensual
sexual offence the other one is an an assault against the
person - looking at grim pictures is looking at grim
pictures - 2 d images cannot by thieir nature be physically
assaulted or consent /otherwise

the point was not about consent - the point was about things

astrid-gil-botn: they are not all fake. Ive read faqs and a
book I saw in a store about the films and others like it,
not all of them, or the footage is all fake. what about the
cremetories, the animal slaughters, the car wrecks, you cant
really fake those things you idiot.

There are worse things, Go to ogrish and watch a film called
"Sawfun" its a guys head getting cut in two by a old saw and
then his brains get pulled out of his head.. its 110% real
and pretty sick.. but still not the worst.
