ok, i am planning on getting these:

http://www.alteclansing.com/product_details.asp?pID=ATP3&sI
D=2

.....new computer speakers!!
6 watts each satellite, 18 watts for the subwoofer (RMS, of
course)
(Altec Lansing ATP3, for those of you who didn't bother to
check the link)

does anyone have any experience w/ these speakers?
i read every review i could find on the net, and they seem
to be the best ones at this price..... they're supposed to
be very good... but NO HEADPHONE JACK!!
oh well....

they will be replacing my old, REALLY CRAPY current
speakers.... just 2 satellites, really bad quality (over
emphisizes cetain frequencies, really muddy at anything
above QUIET volume), and the right one keeps cutting in and
out
(this is why i use headphones only now)

.....OR WILL THEY?!?
any recommendations? (other than the klipsch pro media, or
some other extremely pricey unit)
im spending around $100 canadian.. ill go a bit higher (120)
but not much more than that....

Yeah theres no headphone jack so you have to unplug them and
plug in your headphones, but i dont really mind that.

I went on a quest to purchase some 'puter speakers a while
ago. I finally decided on these:

Yahama YSTMS50

2 Satellite - 20W each
1 Subwoofer - 40W

They sound quite good and they're really freaking loud.
I've never turned the volume control on the speaker itself
past a quarter of the way. And they have a headphone jack.
Little less than $100 US if I remember right.

The ones you're looking at have a much cooler appearance,
though.
