Kay. I just discovered this less than an hour ago.
Absolutely stunning downloadable full album on the Monotonik
weblabel. This is gold I tell you.

Pliant "Maruera Gum"

It would be worth your while to go thru their archives and
check out some of the other gr8 stuff they have available
for download. Weblabels are awesome, specially when they
have taste.

I suggest checking out "zelda's windmill" first on that LP,
btw... its just amazing.

Totally. They seem to get a lot of submissions by well
established artists in there...

ooh, ... I mostly loved the polyphony at the end (2
interwoven melodies playing together) It takes a lot of
thought to write something with melody like that, a lot of
artists now focus too much on the sound quality/arrangement
and not much on melody. If you havn't heard "the lonely
toothbrush" by www.mp3.com/imaginary, it has similar
polyphony about half way through, I love it. Also try piso
mojado, sounds like you're flying on the back of a dragon.

your track I saw a girl and followed her home is a perfect
blend of melody/arrangement/quality, excellent.

polyphony translates as "many voices" -- not necessarily two
- sorry to be pedantic, but some people who didn't know what
it meant, might go away thinking it meant "2 interwoven
melodies...."

if you like polyphony, naturally bach should be your next
destination - if you can read sheet music, then you will see
the amazing patterns there

When it comes to an 'indie' label like this, they need as
much support as possible.

We gotz ta do our part.

I love the original 'Zelda Windmill' tune in Zelda 64, but
I'm not too sure about Pliant's version. Shame, as it is a
great tune.

Ilkae have got a 3-tracker up there too which is worth the
download.

Spark's mp3 album (on his site, not Mono) is good too - 'The
Junk Capitalist'. Also worth the download.

I've just finished Pliant's Maruera Gum download now...

Yeah, that sense tracj is lush. Also check out Ckid (Wheres
My Parka ep), Sleepy Town Manufacture (Miss ep) and Aerial
(Bacurex).

And for that true 4/8 bit sound, check out Aleksi Eeben's
Music box. Its a 7 track ep, but they have 32 trax
available for download to play in an emulator.

yes stoner! chrono trigger/cross music is awesome. i
actually think that the chrono trigger soundtrack helped to
form my taste in music as it is today.and it's a video game!
if anyone wants to hear a great song, i strongly reccomend
'chronopolis'. really great stuff.

and thanks for reminding me about the windmill song. love
that. has anyone ever heard the music played in super mario
rpg... in the lost forrest? similar to the winmill song.

btw...if you like video game music or music inspired by
video games then PLUXUS is a must!!!!

They are two talented guys from sweden who borowed about
1000 $ from the other guys granny to buy some gear and get
started =)
She did a good investment and apparently she even likes
their music.

Their music has awesome melodies and much emotions ,
sometimes sad , sometimes happy but most of the time plain
silly and fun =)
Their style is truly uniqe.
Check out "Elektroplux" and "Adjöss" (two favorites of
mine)

I love that Pliant stuff. But that's because I'm a sucker
for videogame music. Probaly due to me playing them since I
was really young and the fact that I hear it so much from
all the rpg's I've beaten.

did i know how much electronic music would grow from then
on.

And to think Wipeout Music started with Psygnosis's in house
musician CoLD SToRAGE.

Plaint's stuff sounds weak? I heard some of Ohcre's stuff,
and well it is good, but it doesn't come close to Zelda's
Windmill, Forest Cake, and Mario v.s. Bowser.

spectacular, but you don't have to have a 8-bit fetish to

Too anyone, get your hands on some mp3s from Rage Racer and

As for something to try:

Rage Racer - Lightning Luge/Silver Stream/Hurricane Hub

Ridge Racer Type 4 - Silhouette Dance/Quiet
Curves/Thru/Lucid Rhythms

If I only knew who composed these tracks....
