What effect is used at the beginning of that track? It
sounds like the music / drumming is coming from another

either it was really recorded from another room, or he used
some echo/delay/chamber effect.

there's an effect in Cool Edit called Echo Chamber I think,
where you can enter the length, width and height of a room
plus damping factors and mic position. Then it simulates the
acoustic of this "room". It's a pretty cool feature. :)

recorded all the sounds in the room, including the music

Yeah the same was done in Smack My bitch up video by
Prodigy. I think it it much easier to simply record it than
to put the stereo delay thing.

I think it was recorded in a room live, because if you
listen closely, when the clip with the effects is over, a
guy says something like, "Is that it?". Plus all the noises
and stuff (car door or whatever the hell it is) it has to be
in a room.
