Going down memory lane here... "Kitchen" is a definite
classic! It was one of the first album to get me into
electronica in the early 90's.... But where did they go from
there?!?

I am listening to this now, very nice stuff, on R&S
records... memory lane indeed, some good ambient tracks and
some good techish stuff too.

Which one, their first record? You know what Sun Electric
was literally the first ever pure electronic music I
listened to before I got into Orbital and Aphex etc.

Yup thats their first. I know it very well. Damn I
practically grew up with that record, how spooky is that. No
one really talks about the old shit but thats the shit I dug
before old Squarepusher and stuff came on the scene a couple
of years later.

Yeah I think they just kept repeating themselves or just got
boring I guess. Never were as strong as Aphex or Orbital but
I listened to 'kitchen' a lot at the time 'cause it was
practically the only electronic thing I had and so remember
them very well.

It was one of my first electronic purchases as well, I
remember getting it, the same shop I got the Positiva
Ambient Collection which is a gem.

Ambient music. God that died a death, didn't it. Damn I use
to be a serious ambient head one time.

i think sun electric's sound evolved quite a bit, but true
with somewhat diminishing returns. the track "aaah!" (1994)
from the ep that followed "kitchen" (a classic of early
nineties techno) is still a regular feature in my playlists.

Wow - I seem to have started this thread 19 months ago...and
only now it is a discussion! Weird.. Well, Kitchen and Aaah!
are both great! The yellow live one is a bit boring though.
I used to compare them to Mouse on Mars.. for the germanic
quality I guess. Kitchen and Aaah! are still on my playlists
as well. Timeless pieces, indeed.
