I just got my brothers old comp. an old Pentium 100!!!

So why the fuck am I happy now???

Well ,'cause now I can finally play with my favorite music
making software,.....Fasttracker 2.8. (it won't work on my
PIII windows 98 setup)

since the oldschool I've been tracking on the Amiga 500 with
protracker,...for years I've made obscure madness never
airtimed outside my bedroom.
All the skillz I acquired on protracker got a finishing
touch with fasttracker on my parents comp.,....but when I
bought a comp. for myself and moved out of the house at the
end of 2000,...the bloody program wouldn't run in dosmode.

Due 2 this disaster I had 2 make music with other programs
like Cubase & wavelab etc etc. After a year of fiddling with
these programs I've made some decent tunes,..tho could never
use it the way I wanted.

Now I can sample my hectic breakpatterns from fasttracker
and dsp fuck them in wavelab for mastering in Cubase. A new
era in plugexpert music has arrived.
I'm so fucking happy ,....

anyone else from a protracker/fasttracker background here?

did U encounter the same problems with Ft2 on higher end
systems? (windows 98 PIII)

Whenever I runned the program under windows,....the samples
stuttered,.like sort of a buffer-fuckup.

I tried every configuration I could think of,.but nothing
worked,..so obviously I'm very happy with an extra comp.
especially for tracking.

I really missed looping stuff randomly ,....speeding up
loops or slowing them down on different channels

hhmmm,.yeah Fasttracker is difficult for people that don't
like 2 invest time in learning parameter codes etc.
But when U get the hang of it,...shiznit swings.
U have so much manual sample control,.everything can be
programmed with codes,....it spartanic approach is lovely
for the ultimate geek.

my program
