Does anyone know how the FUCK you light torches? I have no
deku sticks, bombs don't work...

I know! I need to light these torches in a dungeon... and
the walkthroughs are useless, just saying 'light the torches
and go through' and I'm like 'WITH WHAT???!!!???'

Do you have the little lighter thing with you that you get
from the chest in your house? Light them with that. But if
you're out of magic power, you can't use it.

Hmmm, I tried doing that (it's a lamp I think).. and it
didn't work... perhaps I was doing it incorrectly. Damn. Ah,

now.

Np problem! Make sure you have some magic, the green bar.
It's a magic lamp, won't work it the bar is empty.

Lucky you, the SNES version is the best game EVER! (not
including Chrono Trigger). I'm jealous, I wish I could play
it again for the first time. :-(

This game rocks. Have fun Jarworski, and take your time,
cause it's not really long : the first time i finished it
took me several months (i was 10 years old) but the second
time took me less than an day.

If your going to play gbc roms, get your hands on Zelda
Oracles and Seasons! Both are intertwined and excellent.
As for roms.....try here.

ah yes! Link to the Past is easily my favorite Zelda next to
the NES original. The way they constructed the obstacles
preventing you from getting items (like with the Mirror,
won't say anymore to prevent ruining it for Jar) is
excellent. Plus the Tower is dope. SO much to do in that
game.

If you need help finding stuff Jar, just ask!

Top Zeldas (IMO):
1. Legend of Zelda (NES)
2. Link to the Past (SNES)
3. Majora's Mask (N64)
4. Link's Awakening (GB)
5. Ocarina of Time (N64)

Oh, such a great game. Hopefully the 2005 one'll be great
too. Looks fanfeckintastic in that video. We need another
Mario Kart too, Nintendo, if you're reading...

"We need another Mario Kart too,"

Mario Kart DS is coming out. I presume a launchtitle for the
Nintendo DS... so it should be here early 2005.

Link tt Past is a brilliant game. But I think I've said that
many times on this board already ;-)

I never did understand what you had to do in the house with
the two brothers who had a argument. It's been ages since I
played the game, but I still remember there was that one
thing I was never able to figure out.

That's the double-ended house beside the ''maze'', right?
Don't you use a bomb to blow up the wall, then the boys kiss
and make up?

I don't remember exactly where the house was... it's been
over 10 years you know.

But it can't have been that simple. Back in those
days it kept me up at night and I tried hundreds of things.
If it was really something as obvious as blowing up the wall
than... well... Than I was an idiot probably.

It seems in every Zelda-game there was this one riddle I
couldn't solve.

Ocarina Of Time --> The sad guy sitting under the tree in
the village at night. What does he want? Why is he so sad?

Link's Awakening --> The two people who write each other
letters and are obviously secretly in love with each other.
What do you do about them?

After a while I just get frustrated with things like that
and move on. And once I've completed the game I can't be
bothered to go back and try to solve a sidequest. Oh well.
Such is life.

Another GC Mario Kart, more precisely. Or at least more
courses for DD or something...

I predict it won't happen. Nintendo have never released more
than one Mario Kart per system... and I don't think they're
about to change that. Even though it would probably be easy
money for them. Just make a couple of new courses and
release a Mario Kart DD2... guaranteed to be a bestseller.
But it just doesn't sound like something they would do.
Atleast i would be very surprised if they did.

offline Chris Ochre on 2004-05-21 16:48 [#01200802]
Points: 570 Status: Lurker

Probably, but I can live in hope. Like you say, they'd have
£40 out my pocket in a flash if they knocked up another 9
courses, a couple of new characters. It's such a great
game, and plays so well.

"a couple of new characters."

Lol, well I think surely they've used every possible
character from the MarioKart universe in DD already! Really,
I can't think of anyone else that would deserve to be in
Mario Kart. Infact, I think inventing Waluigi was probably
already overdoing it a bit. And what about Piranha Pete and
King Boo? No way do they deserve a place in the galery of
classic Nintendo-figures!

hehe, i should hope not. Before you know it they'll have
babyversions of every character in it.

offline Chris Ochre on 2004-05-21 17:18 [#01200828]
Points: 570 Status: Lurker

Okay, so they've run dry with the characters (Waluigi was
unnecessary, I agree) but they really should add more
circuits. I need it. Or Mario Sub, just something!

I agree that more courses would indeed be fun. For the most
part I thought the courses were really good in DD though.
Better than in Mario Kart 64. I prefer them if they're not
too gimmicky.... just pure racingtracks are the best. For
instance I'm not too fond of the cruiseship-level, or the
one with all the traffic, or the huge canon-flight in DK
Jungle.

They should have more tracks like the Mario & Luigi-ones. Or
that babypark-track... the really short one? That one is
always great fun. And my favourite is the yoshi-shaped
track. I'm not sure why, but that one plays like a dream. I
do that one all the time on time-attack mode.

That game is fabulous.

I was disapointed by the interplay between the two main
characters... there was so much potential for a Lethal
Weapon style buddy relationship, but they were so bland...
but I guess it IS a Samurai game, I should have expected
that. Still, fuck that, I was disapointed and Capcom could
have really did something special there.

The gamplay itself is awesome. Hardcore.

Its all about the gameplay, and the style for me. I stopped
giving a shit about stories in games since I was about 16
hehe. Say what you want, anyone, but video game stories are
shit.

I have to admit, I'm not a story guy, either. That's the ONE
thing where video games lag behind movies. They've got
superior graphic designs, amazing musicians, and pathetic
stories, other than a handful. Hopefully that will change
someday.

Capcom is on a roll. Devil May Cry 3 is going to recapture
the glory of DMC1.
