It scares me...

...that there are actually people that follow organized
religion. You cannot organize something as beautiful as
spirituality and then put rules on it. The god of my
understanding is simple, caring, understanding, and really
could give a fuck 1/2 whether or not you follow some
standardized set of fucked up guidelines set by man in the
first place! People have wars and die over some bullshit
principles created by men that don't and have never worked
in the first fucking place. Religion is what always scares
people from finding their true spirituality and mark my
words, organized religion will be the downfall of
intelligent human existence as we know it.

I agree.
But i don't think religion will be the downfall , just plain
igonrance.
The fact that we still drive cars that use gasoline for
example scares me.

the fact that there are activists against carbonated
beverages scares me. I agree that religion is just an
example of ignorance, or maybe an escape from life for truly
weak people, but all of the power religion has over people
is what makes me thing it will bring us down evntually.

How do you spread the goodness of a God without
organization?

Hm... religion is such a bad word. Brushing my teeth isn't a
religion. I do it every day, and I'm very religious about
it, but I don't worship my toothbrush, nor do I meditate on
the wonders of toothpaste. Obeying traffic laws is something
we are all forced to do, yet the Ever Present and Powerful
Speed Limit does not play a part in my emotions. Little
rules and habits that are a part of religion can be quite
good. It doesn't surprise me that the rules of [my] religion
are basically common sense. It also doesn't surprise me that
my religion is quite UNorganized. Orderly, yes... I need
some kind of order, otherwise I'll go insane, and I don't
need any help with that. But you don't see me acting like a
zealous clone.

That's my 2 cents on 'religion', and I'm sticking to it.

I was about too probably really offend some people, but
decided to erase the reply. I cant discuss religion,
politics, philosophy. I passionately agree with the first
thread.

A revelation! I never thought about not being able to
discuss politics because you didn't want to offend
someone... I thought everyone hated politics.

All religion is to me is a pain in the ass, because I have
to wake up early every Sunday to go to church. I'm
indifferent... if Christianity or whatever else gives
someone faith, good for them. I don't follow my religion, I
jerk off all the time, and I kill people.

This is why I dont follow a religion...I figure if there is
a God and he is as great as others say that he wont care
that much what I've thought in my past and will be
forgiving.

Otherwise...I'd rather burn in hell...it sounds much more
interesting.

I'm still curious how anyone could go about spreading the
goodness of some God without any organization?
