on keyboards - i have a summer job for one reason, im
saving up for a keyboard and some more equipment. does
anyone have any good suggestions on a particular one?

you mean a midi control keyboard, synth, or just regular
keyboard with set sounds.

if you mean just a regular keyboard, forget it. most of them
have no parameters to change sounds, and the presets suck no
matter how many they have.

synths are usually pretty expensive, but will give you
(depending on what you get) vitually unlimited sounds.

but for my money, i would just go a midi controller keyboard
with a few knobs. i use a 'midiman midi controller' 64 keys,
pitch bend, modulation, volume and 12 assignable knobs.
these are great for controlling soft synths, and with
quality Ssynths like Absynth around....well, the
possibilitys are endless.

of course i would have a good look around for second hand
hardware synths too. also, something like the K station by
novation would be cool.
although its only a one octave keyboard, you can transpose
the keys up and down, it has a bunch of knobs witch can be
fully assignable to soft synth applications, + i think it
has the same synth engine as the nova.

it does if you make sure you copy the whole thing. theres
something weird with the coding around this place, copy and
paste doesnt seem to work over too or more lines.

If you don't need(know how to) to actually play keys, I
suggest the Roland JV-1010 or a S/H Roland JV-1080. They are
sound modules packed with excellent presets.

There are so much good stuff S/H out there..Yamaha CS1x
etc.
