Cd burning software. . .

My Easy CD Creator won't recognize my mp3s as mp3s
anymore!!! What the fuck? Anyway is there anything free and
easy that I could download, perhaps, until I get around to
asking a friend to loan me his HP burning software? Btw,
would Hewlett Packard burning software work on my computer
if my burner is not HP brand?

If it's clever software it won't, but it might. My Creative
CD software only works only the specific type of burner I
have...

I was using it for a while and it did the same. I just
changed over to Nero. It's a lot better and no problems as
of yet.

I'm naughty and nicked a copy from work and installed it at
home. So no idea i'm afrad. I would guess about 30 quid
though. Check download.com they normally have a price next
to trials

All right that might be useful, also if anyone else has any
suggestions, please let me know.

They're fuckers expecting you to pay for a decent CD burner
when really one should come with the drive. It's like
selling you a mouse then saying, oh yes, there are drivers,
but if you want the deluxe verison where you can move
horizontally as well you have to pay £25 more.

I'd rather have a choice - the bundled software is usually
so crappy most of the time I'd rather them not give me
another coaster and shave a tiny bit off the price.

Mine isn't Its the only one I've seen that consitently
prevents buffer under run. It's also very user friendly
without losing any functionality. Creative are usually v.
good for software/support :)

I'm glad you had a better experience ... I was stuck with
this POS EZ CD Creator. I threw that out and bought Nero
instead.

easy CD creator over nero anyday.
with nero i had a whole bunch of problems (skipping etc).
since using easy CD ive had none at all. i suggest your
problem with mp3s is to do with a re-association with file
types (maybe). reinstall your easy CD software, see if that
works.

I have done that. . . and it still won't work, but with that
"re-association" thing in mind I'll try a bit harder to fix
it.

Easy CD is rubbish. It always under runs if you're doing
something else.

Yes that's true, but if you've got a fast burner, you're not
off the computer for long anyway.

Oh god, EZ CD Creator is one of the worst programs i've ever
used. It wouldn't burn 700meg cd-Rs and it took damn near 40
minutes to burn a cd. I switched over to [pirated copy of]
Nero and it's been smooth sailing ever since.

bump -_- I still need some help with this problem, folks,
and I'm not about to go out and buy a new program.

why would you want to burn perfectly good cds? It's a waste
of matchs!!

Easy CD Creator is a pile of crap, as is the Roxio software
supplied by HP. I prefer Nero - it's much better.

Has anyone tried the built in abilities to write CDs under
Windows XP? I've created data disks, and its so easy. I
haven't tried to actually copy disks though...
