Wonna know which musicgroup, artist or what ever is best through the years.
Right now listen to Beatles, wonderful music with John Lennon in front.
But, of course Frank Zappa is the best!!
In your opinion, whats best?

The Beatles, no contest. In a trillion years, it'll still be the Beatles. Lennon is truly a god among men... well he WAS.

zappafan-
Zappa is a huge influence on me. Do you have "The Mother's of Prevention" album? It's his early syncalvier stuff done like in 1984 that sounds creeply like idm.......
I have just about everything.....My favorites are anything by the mid-70's band (all his bands were good, I just like there feel - the Inca Roads band), the orchestral stuff, and Civilzation Phaze III......

I just downloaded ''We're Only in it for the Money'' and ''Freak Out'' from Soulseek. I'm not familiar with Zappa... can't wait to hear these albums.

Oh yeah, and ''Uncle Meat''. The only album I had from him before today was ''Strictly Commercial'', kind of his greatest hits or something... interesting stuff.

Mozart, just listen to his first symphony and then realise he made it when he was only 8 years old. The guy was abnormally talented, maybe the greatest musical talent ever. He mastered a very wide range in the musical spectrum and expanded on musical rules which became a standard later. I love his music.

Opecks: You should download (if possible) anything from the 'Roxy and Elsewhere' album, "You Can't Do That On Stage Vol. 2 - the Helsinki concert", and the "Mother's of Prevention Album".
The last mentioned album has a track at the end where he samples a ton from the 'Porn Rock' hearings in front of the U.S. congressional housewives. He's got Tipper Gore saying "Fire and Chains and Thrills of Gradification in some Twisted Mind".......
All of his albums are different....stuff from the mid-70's to the mid 80's is the best, in my opinion.....

He's got a huge discography... I took a look at Allmusic.com, I'll have to get everything there.
I haven't really listened yet, but I will later... can't wait, I've heard good things about the guy. Lots of brand new Zappa for my virgin ears.

Something like 65 albums when he was alive...like 75 now....
If you really want a treat...by "Civilzation Phaze III". It's almost all synclavier, and is the hardest (most dense) album I've ever heard. It's like Confield, with orchestral instraments, and they let Vsnares in on some of the tracks.
Because of Zappa, nothing ever sound 'weird' to me. I'm completely desensitized to anything now. That album to me 5 years to get used to (I'm not kidding)......

I agree smeagle. He was in that period. Roxy and Elsewhere is a great dubbel.
And when I just check back.... ...another great band was MC5. Anyone familiar too that?
