I meant the existential thing as a joke, sorry. As far as I
undertand it is that we are all alone, as individuals. We
have relationships etc but every choce we make and
everything we do is our choice and our reponsibility and no
one else's. Hence 'existential despair', the inability to
cope with the fact that we're alone.

well, I wouldn't despair about it. No problems with being
alone. Loneliness, maybe, but let's not be pathetic.

jonesy .. thought as much :)

sartre's philosophy can be summed up as "no excuses."

that's the way to deal with the despair, or heidegger's
anxiety (tho i shouldn't really be mixing thought as much as
i am) .. these feelings are disclosive to us, in a very
profound way -

Haven't heard the thing about being alone .. ? mmhhh.. oh
well. ;)

I know, I was just saying that I usually drive faster than
reflex was when he hit the dog (regardless of speed
limits).

70mph also applies on dual carriage ways :)

You're a funny man Jonesey. I have just read all that stuff
from before. I doff my hat in your general direction. Piss
taking is a good way of keeping people in order rather than
punishment. What you did before had me in stiches.

Cheers bubba.

Sorry, I meant alone as in we have responsibility for
ourselves and no one else does. I apologise for my ignorant
distortion. Its an area I'm weak on. I need to read more; I
just wish I had more time to read. How I miss university.

Fancy a dash through the village in my new bentley old boy?

In the ~UK its Illegal to run over a dog and NOT report it
to the police. Regardless of whether you were able to avoid
it, you SHOULD be ashamed if you didn't take the body in to
your local police station .

If you killed MY dog I'd kill you . simple.

Cats are OK not to report. Selfish arrogant fuckers , cats.

Dogs that run out in front of you are probably just trying
to be your friend. "Here I Am ! Look at me ! Will you be my
friend ? " kind of thing.... bit naive really.
SPLLAaaaaaatttTT !!!!!

FINAL BUDDHIST WORD ON THE MATTER:
The karmic principle applies....
What goes around comes around.
which means a nasty death in your next incarnation REFLEX .
Om.

sure the dog doesn't deserve to die but then surely the
responsiblity should fall on the owners? There's been
instances of people being attacked round here because people
have let them off their leash and they say 'yeah but it
wouldn't harm anyone' yeah right..

and just for the record, cats rule!

Although you (may) have to report it, it isn't illegal to
run over dogs or cats in the UK. Unless they are a "working
animal", e.g. sheepdog, snifferdog, animal used in TV/movies
etc. there is no fine either.

dogs should NOT be kept on leashes, b3n, you bumhole -- they
shouldn't even be kept as pets, but i guess humans dig the
power trip so much that even the peasants want a piece of
the action

Ha ha, at a monkey sanctuary where my gf worked there was
this guy who kept on wanting them to set the sanctuay's dog
free.

I don't think dogs should be kept as pets either...

!#@$!

I only think they should be kept on leashes if people insist
on having them....cats are much better, they get a
substantial amount of freedom (at least my cat does)

And I certainly don't think dogs should be treated as
domesticated (and I know my cat goes into killer mode at
night)

I really had no choice, I was going the speed limit and
paying attention too. I know it was dead, ofcourse - but I
didnt go pick it all up? Gimme a break. So many dogs get run
over on the hiways. Not trying to make what I did sound
right or ok, it still was bad. But just not my fault.

Take responsibility for your actions. You killed a dog. Next
time, try to avoid talking on the cellphone while driving
(specially at 100), and wait untill you are stopped to spark
your cigarette. These are rules that are not hard to follow.

no. im a good driver.

funkmaster: I think thats your problem, you assume too much,
if you would have skimmed these posts for 20 seconds youd
know other information, and not make an assumption.

if i hadnt had answered my phone, or lit my smoke and was
STARING AT THE ROAD id still have hit the dog, theres no
way... it came out too quickly. somtimes animals will run
out 30 feet in front of you, 100 feet in front of you, why
not 5 feet in front of you? Calculate that with going
100km/h and tell me if you could have gotten out of the way.
