I usually stop reading a book I don't like. I hate doing
that but life's too short to read crap. I think the last
shit book I read was an Iain Banks novel called Walking on
Glass. I've stuck to the good stuff since then and gone
mostly for Penguin Classics.

come on, damion, Crash is not exactly shitty. You may call
it alienating, but shitty? You make it sound like it was
some soft porn paperback mag.

I've not read any dostoyevsky. Any recommendations? Has
anyone read A Man in Full by Tom Wolfe?

Anyone like Danielle Steel?

No, but I enjoy the made-for-tv movies. Ahem.

I've just started the Unbearable Lightness of Being. Its
cool so far.

One book I never got anything out of was the Outsider which
everyone always goes on about. I read it at the insistence
of my girlfriend.

I've got Nausea and my girlfriend has the Plague so I'll
check them out. the Camus book I'm talking about is about a
guy living in Algeria whose mother dies and who stands trial
for murder etc.

Yo enthy -- i bought proud highway the other week - haven't
read it yet :) yeah, this one is fascinating, seeing as it
covers most of his major works -- really interesting. i take
it you've read most of his books, otherwise i doubt it would
be as interesting..:)
