Hi Jacking threads

well, something I've noticed here in the MB, (and I'm just
as responsible for it as the next aphex fan here) is that
threads get hijacked quite easily here. You read a topic
name, like "best sock style that richard d james wears" and
you read the thread and after 7 posts, people are talking
about the weather in tallahassee or how close people live to
graveyards, or something WAY off like that. (I'm just
pulling things outta my head at my fancy). There are no
accusations or angry feelings in this post, simply
observations.

the topic usually gets back on track eventually, as soon as
someone wants to discuss the name of the topic.

Still, I would authorize a sizable grant for research into
this new disturbing trend of "thread hijacking" ;-)

eh... i guess that just means the original topic just wasnt
interesting enough to keep everones attention...and even if
it was..conversations just tend to meander

its always been like that for me anyways...my friend and i
were considering bringing a dat recorder to school or
something at some point to record some of the conversations
that go on there...starting off normal enough...and usually
evolving into completely unrelated (and often unspeakable)
topics

yes, this is true. I noticed how my conversations with
friends today went from one thing to another in a short
period of time. no biggie. how bout those mets?

I like Caramilk Bars, but I think I have a cavity, because
it stung my tooth to eat one earlier today.

Seriously though, threads do change, as does a conversation.
One moment you are talking about something and before you
know it, you're talking about something completely different
- its natural. And as XLR said, usually you end up talking
about the original topic of conversation anyway!

xlr is right, wayout..."caramello" was "check it out (out
out) - Caramello" I think that it was, anyway.
