It's the kind of VSTI where you can press one note for a minute and it can generate constantly changing textures, those envelopes are amazing... Coolest sounding VSTI I ever heard is still Virsyn Tera but that may be personal preference. Also check out a free synth called Crystal (www.greenoak.com/crystal/usermanual.html).

Thanks for the heads up Laserbeak!
I just downloaded crystal, man I thought simsynth was versatile... This is just mind boggling. My only criticism is that there are so many variables it'll take months to learn how to use properly :)

You have to put the .dll into an application (like fruityloops 3.3 or reason) that supports VST plugins. Read the help manual of either of those programs to find which directory to copy the.dll to.

Could someone be a little clearer on the installation of crystal? I can find anything explaining how to do it. I just want to use in Fruity Loop 3.4...

Hope that helps :)

Copy the DLL file into your vstplugins directory (like c:\program files\steinberg\VSTplugins for instance). Make sure this vst path is properly set up in your programs. Now it should show up in your VST compatable programs.
short explanation: Just put it where all your other VSTI .dll files are located.
I hope this makes everything clear. BTW I've just managed to get a manual for Absynth, so if anyone's interested....
