There's a child pageant show on Jenny Jones at the moment. One of the kids doesn't like doing it (she's 7) but her grandmother makes her.

What's Jenny Jones? Is it like Jerry Springer? Sounds like Brass Eye with the girl with breast implants. I take it this is American.

Yeah that show make me sick to. Its like those "freak shows" they used to have back in the days at the circus.
The show is all about displaying fucked up people for our amusment.

One of the kids on it was 3! Jenny Jones is a cheap Jerry Springer Clone, it's American.
Sido's point about the freakshow aspect of chat shows is very accurate.

I thought brass eye had been banned for ever? :)
It's funny how the controversy the whole Brass eye thing started up just went to prove the guy's (very serious) underlying point of the satire.

I never thought of that, Sido. that's quite insightful.
Is it any better in the UK or Australia? I've unfortunately never left North America. I don't mean to be "blasphemous" or whatever, but my country's "culture" for the most part depresses me and I'm thinking of moving sometime when I get the resources to do so.

The UK chat shows aren't so "freak filled", but you do get some pretty dull people on them. The audiences are still stupid, cheering fanatically as though someone has said something deeply profound when someone roles out trite rhetoric or a cliched banality.
Kilroy is "better quality" than most american chat shows, but he (kilroy) as a host annoys me.

Fun drinking game to be played while watching UK chat shows:
1. Every time someone says "at the end of the day..." take a shot.
2. Every time someone says "you don't know me" take a shot. 3. When it degenerates into a "shouting match".
Within 5 minutes you'll be hammered.

There's nothing I hate more than parents and grandparents that push and prod and mold their kids in the fucked up way that they want them. That Jon Benet Ramsey thing is sickening.
