I love radiohead, kid a would definitely be my favorite album, because of the electronic sound and influences that inspired it. Dj shadow- incredible, both pre-emptive and endtroducing are albums that take you to a whole different world. Unkle, very good too, lonely soul is one of my favorites...My bloody valentine, pinnacle of early 90s brilliance with Loveless, and Kevin Shields has done some good work with Primal scream on xtrmntr, which is interesting

Yeah I am a very big Radiohead fan as well as Aphex Twin. If you also liked their last album oyu mght want to check out Charles Mingus. This is what I tell anyone if they like Kid A because I found out that big band jazz really is amazing.
I have both Endtroducing and Preemtive strike as well. In case you don't know, UNKLE is a collaboration- DJ Shadow and James Lavelle. There are a lot of very good voices on the CD including Richard Ashcroft and Tom Yorke on the last track.
I haven't listened to the others that much except the verve. You also might like to know that DJ Shadow is releasing a movie soudtrack later this year. I think the film is called Dark Days. I'm not positive.
Other artists you might like:
-Tortoise -Nightmares on Wax -Future Sounds of London -Autechre -Coldplay (some people say they are like Radiohead, I think it's bullshit, you might like them tho)
You might also want to check out Thievery Corporation. These are compilation CDs. I haven't listened to it but a friend of mine has bought a couple and sas they are very good. To give you and idea one of them has Gus Gus on it, don't know if you have heard of them.

I think Radiohead are the best musical divas out there. Ideotheque is the most quality tune on Kid A for real.

Think - Radiohead ARE European. And I like them. Creep is one of the greatest teen angst records ever, Kid A and OK Computer are both great albums. I don't think much of The Verve or Coldplay, they are both dull in my opinion. Thievery Corporation are also dull in general, though they have about two good tunes. MBV are excellent, DJ Shadow was a pioneer though I never listen to him any more, and UNKLE was the same with a bigger ego. (i.e. James Lavelle.)

KID A- I read so many (bad) reviews about this record. I didn't have an opinion on it as quickly as everyone else in the world did, and I didnt understand where all these Radiohead critics were coming from. It's an amazing recording. I still listen to it.
the Verve is cool, I think Richard Ashcroft is a cooler person than his music though, Urban Hymns has some nice moments "sonnet" "catching the butterfly". He has a great presence, but his new stuff reminds me of Neil Diamond. MBV are an important band. Loveless is one of my top 10 fav. albums of all-time EVER! Kevin Sheilds is, to me, the most innovative guitarist of the last 20 yrs. Billy Corgan owes a great debt to him. DJ Shadow's Endtroducing was a highlight of that yr (96) and he basically just shitted on everything in Hip Hop, along with most dj music at the time. His new album this yr(2001) should be interesting. Portishead is tops! I'd buy a new record from them in a sec, where are they?

Hey 'tis me again. I don't really like creep, it's the only Radiohead song I don't like all that much. Unlike all their other music they made creep almost by accident when Jonny Greenwood was testing his guitar he let off this really loud riff, one of the practises Thom happened to be singing a new song of his and they were told to keep it. Sure they liked it for a while but it was all very quick and rushed.
Radiohead's best work is 97 and onwards but this next album 'Amnesiac' is going to be a bit shorter than Kid A and will have a cuple more tracks. I am really looking forward to it, you can buy tickets today for their big Oxford show.

.Another thing about KID A is that I see a lot of similarities to Bjork, which isn't a bad thing at all. Anyways, I did find the extra sleeve of artwork. A freind had mentioned it to me, and that's how i found out.

Do you really think they sound like aphex?? (idioteque and Kid A). The only thing that sounds like aphex to me about them is the fact that they are electronic.
Having said that, TOm Yorke and RDJ are supposed to be good mate, and RDJ heard KID A before anyone else, so he could have collaberated on a coupld of the tracks, maybe........ unlikely, but possible

I don't think Kid A sounds much like Aphex. It's just that anything that breaks new ground in electronic music (especially if it's done by a band that used to be mainly guitar-based) is automatically compared to Aphex. I can hear similarities in 'Idioteque', but the comparison is mainly down to laziness among journalists. I have the same problem with my own music (not to boast, of course) - on MP3.com and its equivalents, I have to enter a list of bands I sound like. I don't sound much like any existing band, but I put Aphex top to indicate the general kind of area.
By the way, I have a new track called Outsider, appearing on http://www.garageband.com/artist/idlab soon.

it has a documentary on the process of them using 100 cameras, choreography of the dance sequences, original theatrical trailer, biographies (as usual), individual songs to just watch and so on..If you really liked it i would suggest buying it, or maybe just even renting it, its up to you

i know it's been a bit since anyone posted ... but, i read somewhere, radiohead was influenced by early aphex twin. i love radiohead, had the opportunity to see them live last, um, october. best concert ever ... oh, scary bear: that a radiohead thing, refering to the "new logo," or whatever it should be called? i think i've listened to kid a like twice a day since it came out.
(dancer in the dark was the most depressing flick i've ever seen, though i loved it. my friends and i were planning to see requiem for a dream and dancer in the same day. i'm glad that didn't work out.)
