Ok, has anyone seen the new retro style nike commercial,
you know with the song "Keep that funk alive" playing
throughout it, and with all these basket-ball players
playing like Dr. J from the 70's and stuff... I love it,
it's great... :)

I haven't seen that one. I can't think of any memorable
commercials I've seen recently.

My favorite commercial ever is the one announcing the Apple
Mac. I guess I'm an old fart.

is that the old one that was only shown once or something?
Like a big factory with a big television screen and all
that? If so, then that commercial is considered the best
ever...

Yes, I saw it during the 1984 superbowl. The theme is based
on George Orwell's "1984" novel - appropriately enough.

yeah, that's the one... I watched a little video in a
marketing class this past year about the best commercials
and stuff, and that one is apparently considered the best...

I'm not surprised it's well regarded. It doesn't pack the
same punch today, but it was pretty cool to see it back
then.

yup, it is still pretty cool... it's cool that it was only
shown once too, and is still considered the best...

dude.. favourite commercials?

heard that when superbowl is airing, more people are
watching for the commercials sake than for the game.

that's just plain wrong.

I could see the clever billboards.

Does anyone remember the ad where the old man is hanging out
with a bunch of young hooligans and egging cars, and when a
driver gets out and chases them, the old man jumps a fence??
It was hilarious and I only saw it once...
A good one is the fish commercial where the guy fights the
bear at the river mouth..

i can't stand commercials.

especially around the olympics. almost everyone seems to
have some olympic related commercial for their product that
doesn't relate to the olympics at all. how many 'official
_____ product of the olympics' are there?

advertisement companies must think we are goblins.

It's a channel-five english thing only i believe, but the
adverts for "PI helpline" insurance are fucking hilarious.
You can tell they've been made on a budget of around five
pence and a small bag of crack.

Hehe yeah and the phone and stuff. He looks so intense, he
clearly feels passionately about PI insurance.

I like the new Cadbury Dairy Milk advert for its sheer
randomness. The one with the sheep and the bloke at the
office.

You know that one where there's this kid and his dad and
they're eating cereal and being skeptical about its
nutritional value or some shit. And the dad is all "hello
I'm skeptical about this" and the kid is all "yeah we're so
skepical" or some shit and the dad pats his kid on
the head admiring his cuteness for mispronouncing skeptical,
and the mom is like admiring them and they're all happy
together and shit. That one is my favorite. I feel it has a
high moral value and I learned a lot from it and it was
so cute when the kid mispronounced skeptical. I buy
that particular brand of cereal to this day which I'm prety
sure is called fag cereal.

I can only imagine a society of elephants with evolved human
intellect making such a commercial and grunting their
nasally trunk bellows of how they're skeptical about it and
then the kid elephant mispronounces skeptical in elephant
talk which is 'pbreeee-e-e-e-eeeeaaeaeh'; that's basically
how alien I see humans anyway. The future is elephants
though.

The Nike ad with Johny Cash covering 'hurt' by Reznor in
which they show all the sporting disasters and the one guy
is running and all of a sudden he pukes. That made me laugh.
I watch very little tv so luckily I'm not exposed to all
that shit.

I'm being a bit biased here, but the current Specsavers
advert on U.K. TV is my favourite.

LAZY_TITLE

A friend of mine did the music for the advert under a
pseudonym.
