I'm just watching Sky News... Is it me, or do we have more train crashes in the UK than any other country? Or maybe we just don't get to hear of accidents from other countries.

I think the latter chris, there's been a few in america in recent times....and there's loads in india and places. its just cos there's a much hightened awareness of rail safety in this country.....even if it doesn't do much! (though I personally think they are a lot safer than they used to be)
ahh, the bliss of naivete

I don't know what it is like in other countries.....but Sky News seem to be doing an 'overkill' on the reporting of this incident. I'd also like to know what else is happening elsewhere!

Did you notice how we hardly ever hear about missing babies apart from local news and then the day after the hospital incident there's another one...then a few days later..ANOTHER....on national news!

Sky News also have a funny idea as to what a newsflash is. A newsflash used to be real important news, but now they just seem to flash up any bit of news they get their hands on. You can imagine 'Queen has just farted!' - he he!

Ha ha - I like your style. Remember when the Queen Mother died, we didn't get to see any other news for about three weeks. God knows what was going on in the Middle East at the time!

Well, well . . .they paused to show a 'Fatal House' fire now on Sky News.
.... I like the way they zoom in close, so you can see the 'Sky Digital' dish..

in the uk there is the highest risk of getting killed when using the train (an austrian newspapeer came up with a statistic recently) This 'cause the railway infrastructure is privatly owned and the companies don't give a shit. That's the point of 'privatization'; the state has to buy it back with a great loss (this happens now in the uk). i'm pretty pissed off by those marketfuckers, they want to do the same here in austria.
