It pisses me off when I hear or read some people mention APHEX TWIN as one of their favourite "BANDS" but the rest of the stuff they like, is boring METAL or ALTERNATIVE crap........I have the feeling they dont take electronic music serious......... But, maybe Im just a biased a-hole...... |

i have a feeling you may be right...a lot of those people have just seen the video for come to daddy and thought it rocked...without having heard any of his other stuff |

though you have to remember..aphex is really the only well known 'idm' artist... they may not like most of the more mainstream electronic stuff...so they dont put any effort into exploring it further...so they hear aphex through someone else and like him without realising theres a whole world of musicians like him outside the mainstream |

Ive heard people mention that they don't care for Squarepusher. How can you appreciate Aphex, but you dont really like squarepusher's music. Some weird tastes. But, what ever floats your boat. If thats what you like, go with it. |
