Ok, I'm not familiar with this band, or ANY of the current popular contemporary rock stuff... but I just saw a clip of a song by them, and the lyrics have ''DISORDER!'' in them alot. Yes, I know I'm describing it pathetically. Anyway, what's this song called? It's fucking awesome. I might get into these guys...

Don't know that song sorry, but if you're getting into them, try Toxicity. It's the only song by them I'll even listen to :-)

Yup, that's the one, thanks. So is there any System of Down fans here, or do they suck and I'm just getting excited about one good song?

chop suei is a good tune. They do have a somewhat orginal sound compared to other heavier music on the radio.

i dont like them, i DID like the 1st album for a while, but it was gradually lost on me.... i like the guitar at the start of Chop Suei, not the rest of it, but i was listening to the radio the other day, and they said that SOAD had either sampled it from a Velvet underground song, or just copied it.
My friends seem to like SOAD, but they're all twats really!

if u want to hear some metal that's reasonably good that u mite not expect to be good, download stuff off of "Mate.Kill.Feed.Repeat" by Slipknot. It's a really rare album - like only 1000 originals. Get the song "confessions" - my dad thort it was hendrix, hahahah!!

you don't like his voice? it's so dope! c'mon, it's an interesting element in 'metal' music. not that he sounds like mike patton, but it's that same sort of element - a strong, almost operatic voice which sends the emotional power of the song far beyond anything else. the singer's voice is my fave part of SOAD, but a lot of the lyrics ("prison song" for example) are great and the music is much more intelligent than most other bands popular now.
i downloaded a few of the demos that leaked recently, even those are pretty good.

I USED to be really into heavy guitars, and I still have a soft spot for them. I'm kind of half rocker/half IDMer. :-) My musical roots are Metallica, Black Sabbath, Nirvana, Ozzy, Motorhead, so I'm fine with heavy guitars. I PLAY guitar, I'll always be into it.
His voice is what got my attention, though... it's damn cool.

Wow, these guys are awesome. I'm ashamed of myself for not knowing earlier. It's just that similar bands that all over MTV and all that crap suck so terribly... I thought these guys were one of them. D'oh!
That guys voice is fucking grrreat!

Some of my friends like SOAD. They can't understand why I don't.

System of a Down is fucking awesome. It's heavy and melodic all at once. Not the usual trendy radio friendly music you'd expect to hear nowadays. Just good old fashioned original music...

I assumed they were just another poppy ''fake aggression/angst'' nu metal band, I was damn wrong...

I was a soad fan from the very beginning but then they became very commercial and stuff and I found out that they suck live most of the time. Also I hate the fact that even young boy/girl band loving teens listen to this music!
But I'll still respect their first album alot. Toxicity has some good songs, but it's not as good as their first album!
