but you see, i genuinely want you to be informed and to
research the subject -- i believe if people actively
researched things, rather than rely on biased and corrupt
media/government/corporate sources, then the power base
COULD shift -- its empowerment of the people -- i dont want
hatred, i want people to think hell! i think i'll go down
the bookshop and buy some books on the subject, or some such
-- just so they have several frames of reference to help
them make a decision, or to inform a draft of an opinion

it's a bit much to ask someone to be well informed on issues
they care nothing for, but if you aren't going to inform
yourself on the topic of "drugs" then don't say they are
bad. simply sit back and admit you don't know.

I'm not going to change my mind on this subject, and if my
opinion on the subject annoys anyone or offends then I am
sorry - but thats just the way I feel!

how can you say drugs are bad for the body? some are in
large doses, some are not. dmt, the most powerful
psychedelic known, is produced in your brain.

offline Jedi Chris on 2002-05-12 01:58 [#00215745]

Here's a final thought on the matter. Is my life, or anyone
else's any worse off for not getting involved in drugs?

(Please no arguments...)

:)

I agree man... but like jupitah said, it's a bit much to ask
people to try and be well informed on issue they're not
interested in... but, anything I am interested in I do
research...

well, it's good to know that there is yet another person
with an opinion based on... what do you base it on?

because I do... look, I don't want to argue anymore... or
"discuss" :)... you don't think they are that bad in
moderation, and I do... so we have a difference of opinion,
lets just end it at that...

Of course most drugs are bad for the body, they do have
physical side effects, in case you weren't aware of it.

I get high all the time, but I'm not about to tell myself
it's not bad for me. That's what is called a
self-reinforcing dilusion.

offline jupitah from Minneapolis (United States) on 2002-05-12 02:05 [#00215769]

yeah some do, but so does salt. it so happens that the most
powerful psychedelic known is not however. in fact, it's in
your blood right now. so to say that drugs are bad for the
body is a simplification. too much water is bad for the
body.

What's that all about? Is my life, or anyone else's worse
off because I forgot to wank off this morning?

I don't like people posting saying "please close this topic"
and posting saying "please no arguments." It makes you sound
conceited, if you weren't aware.

yeah -- the body is only a temporary domain -- why cling
onto it like a scared kitten? live a little - take a chance
-- so you might die a couple of years early? whats 10 years
in a universe 15 billion years old? smoking a joint isn't
gonna turn you into a raving drug fiend; the chances are you
won't smoke a joint and then feel the urge to smoke a
crack-pipe....one can either sit in their bedroom jacking
off to princess leah, or one can go out and search for
adventure, a life of chance, quick wittedness -- who knows,
you might be high on acid and suddenly reach nirvand or
pranayama! then you will laugh at yourself for being so
mundane! walking thru the stinking rush hour traffic damages
your body -- drinking cocacola damages your body -- eating
candy damages your body -- jerking off makes you go blind!
-- like bill hicks said "non-smokers die too" (i quit
smoking in october im pleased to say - i quit coffee two
weeks ago, and i am quitting chocolate bars and coke too --
weening myself off it)

anyways, i am interested in my health - i work out, i do
martial arts, but even bruce lee smoke dope and see how
quick he was!

I feel it is possible to take life too seriously. But I

reacting.

as the universe?

never thought of jerkin it to princess leah, will have to
keep that in mind.

reasoning behind the anti-drug views.

I didn't think i'd see *you* guys arguing quite like this.
I'm not going to write off drugs completely and have no
problems with the users (just so happens the users I know
are loser twats) but as someone said, if you want to do
drugs, your call, its your life. I personally am never
(hopefully) going to go near any pill form drugs etc since
my mother is allergic to loads of drugs (but that's hoping
any spliffs won't be spiked)

funkmaster: yeah, I do know a few people that died from
drugs, and you know since I was in the life for years, YES
it does make me much more well informed than you. this isnt
a privelage its the way it is. it doesnt make me better, it
means I know more.

Its hard to know first hand about something if youve never
been apart of it before.

Jedi Chris: its all the same man, you just get up on your
soap box and tell people DRUGS ARE BAD and im sure everyone
will appreciate you for what you have to say. Which is next
to... nothing?

I feel more sorry for anyone whose never listened to (or
should I experienced) SAW II on LSD.

I agree--drugs aren't necessary.
I don't even take OTC medication unless I'm really, really
sick.

"I don't even take OTC medication unless I'm really, really

sick."

I'm the same way. I feel that its important that people
don't distinguish it as legal drugs -- good! illegal drugs
-- bad! I don't know if anyone can tell the difference of
right and wrong for you, but I'm sure as hell that the
government can't. (That sentance was a bit convoluted but
you know what I mean)

I've been clean for a little over 4 months now, but it took
me dying (i actually flatlined) to realize i had a problem.
Drugs destroyed everything i once held dear and now i'm
having to rebuild everything from the ground up. After my
OD i quit and i feel much better than i ever have.

are you limiting her to the amount/if any of the drugs she
takes?

don't let her do drugs! god damn... be a nice boy friend and
take care of her before it's too late. however, i hope you &
her regret this coz it's a shame something like this has to
bring one couple closer. did it? is it?

quoth...he can't take care of her and stop her from taking
drugs...(this is from experience) he can't save her, he can
only be the understanding b/friend and be there for her when
she needs him, she needs to come to her own senses and help
herself, just encourage her and let her know that it is
possible, above all, give her space!!!!!!!!!
