I was rummaging through some boxes of junk and I came
across an old video promo I have of two Brothers Quay videos
for His Name is Alive. I dusted it off and played it ...

These videos are very good - it's hard to describe the exact
style but it's pretty creepy.

So ... I looked around and there doesn't seem to be anything
else of theirs on the filesharing networks. Does anyone else
like their work? Where can I get more of it???

I love His Name is Alive! They are the best band to still be
on that arty farty 4AD-label! How old are those videos?

They have released a new album recently and all the press
I've read about it has been overwhelming. They change style
quite radically from album to album but without loosing that
recognizable signature of quality and originality. The last
album is supposed to be a "Gospel" album??!?!? I'm afraid I
haven't heard it yet but I bet its good!

The box says 1993, one track is off Mouth by Mouth so that
fits.

I used to like HNIA a lot, but when they changed sound on
that album I kind of lost interest. Seems like they've
changed styles a lot since then. Gospel??? haha

Wish I had something to capture these videos with so I could
share them, they're pretty good, even if you don't like the
music.

Are they b/w? Are "Are we still married?" one of those
tracks? I think I've seen those vids and they are beautiful
and scary at the same time! There is this doll rabbit in it,
isn't it?

Yes, they are both B/W, songs are "are we still married?"
and "can't go wrong without you". And there's a rabbit. :)

Brothers Quay + Stockhausen must be very cool. I'll have to
try and track down that one.

The brothers quay are fucking amazing. The spoookiest,
eeriest most disturbed stop motion animation you can get
your hands on... they have a couple collections of their
work out... well worth the search.

I can't stress how much everyone needs to see these things,
if they like animation.

They were a big influence on tool, in their music videos.

I am going to add that not all of their work is good, but
the stuff that is is mindblowing.

There's a DVD collection including those videos and a
full-length movie by them on amazon.com so I'm happy for
now!
