tune/phob.... how about....

when a topic gets closed, 100points get taken off any
members who posted in the topic.

maybe that would deter spammers?

And when they lose 100 points what will happen? We don't get
prizes for points. You've heard the refrain: "What do pints
mean?" too many times. Don't watch so many gameshows friend.

Yeah but maybe the worst spammers are the ones that care
most about points.

Who came up with the word 'spammer'? Doesn't 'troll' mean
the same thing? Is another language slowly evolving on here?

exactly... most dont care about points, but if someone gets
negative points then they would be recognised as a general
twat :)

and yes, quite a few spammers seem to do it just to get
their points up.

Its the saintly crooner from County Donegal, Ireland Mr
Daniel O' Donnell. I like to wear my jumper over my
shoulders when I get warm so I do.

i am appauled by this whole conversation. penaltys for
posting? why! its harming no one. many times what started
out as a useless topic had grown itno a useful one, or at
least an insight as to how other members of the board think.

How about just the people who spammed? I don't see why I
should lose points because some troll amde it go off topic a
hundred posts later...

electric shocks should be delivered to all people who
disagree with me. A straight 240v current through their
mouse should do it.

but only 17.3 points ought to be deducted, or 2.7 points for
each offensive word, whichever is the greatest. Plus a
14-minute "sin-binning" (username blocked for 14 minutes).
Plus re-habilitation session of 2 minutes staring at a
picture of a field of lillies.

you know it makes sense :D
