I bought Incunabula the other day as a way of finding out
if Autechre are any good and I must say for an album made in
93 its impressive! Now Im thinking of expanding my
collection so as Im sure most of you here have heard a few
Autechre albums, would anyone like to suggest my next
purchase...?

Oh yeah, and Im gonna get hold of Amber too... if you stare
at that cover while listening to it, it somehow makes
sense... ;)

agreed..tri repetae has just the right balance of beauty
and corrosion...any direction in the chronology(earlier
later) after that wont be too much of a leap..

I seriously can not narrow down my favorite Autechre
album... more than any other artist, it changes with my
mood. They're ALL my favorite at some point. Except Gantz
Graf. :-)

Yes, Incunabula is good. My favorite AE song is on that
release.

444, bike, Kalpol Intro, and Eggshell are all excellent
songs!!!

Incunabula was my first Autechre album, and I remember I was
blown away by it... seriously... but, it's just not as good
as it was then now, but it's still quite good...

Autumn Acid aphex twin remix is a must
And Lowrider is good too

I'm with Ophecks, though it is unfortunately consistent that
I only like between 3-5 songs on an Autechre album. Not so
with Amber though, it's yummy the whole way through. and
LP5's damn close.

offline revpersona from Plainfield (United States) on 2002-05-13 05:45 [#00217413]

Yes, Lowride is good. That tis my favorite AE song.

oh, by the way, "Autumn Acid" is a Mu-Ziq song that somehow
got labelled as Autechre remixed by Aphex Twin.
if you liked that song, you should check out more Mu-Ziq. I
personally like Lunatic Harness, particularly
"Mushroom Compost", "Blainville", and the title track.

Yup, Lunatic Harness is great. Don't forget Brace Yourself
Jason.

Royal Astronomy was my introduction to Mu-Ziq. I like that
album quite a bit but I like Lunatic Harness quite a bit
better.
