This part is so gorgeous, where the percussion falls away for a few seconds leaving the fagile melody alone in all its glory... it's so gorgeous...

Right on! I think Selected Ambient Works 85-92 is one of the most-beautiful records of all time. Especially "Tha." It's brilliant from beginning to end, but 4:05 marks a really interesting bit!

I love driving around listening to ''Tha''. The world seems to slow down, the cars and people and everything appear to be underwater, and I drift off into a dream like state as I cruise. That's dangerous, and I probably should be more careful.

I think this album is my favorite for the simple reason that it's so gorgeous and relaxing that I can listen to it anytime... something like SAWII, or Drukqs is a mood type thing... if I'm in a certain mood I'll give it a listen...

it's probably his simplest recording as far as composition goes, but it's his most effective in my opinion...

Classics has simpler composition. Lots of easier/more-basic beats.

I like the fact that you guys talk about specific seconds in the songs, because it really focuses on the details of what makes it a good song. wicked.

Yeah, I've noticed a lot of RDJ's stuff has a completely melodic breakdown where the beats stop and you are left with pure emotion of music.... Incredible.
