press record? :) I've only used soundforge 5 beta, and
earlier versions. but there have always been a nice record
button on the standard toolbar.

you get a recording window with vu-meters and some
parameters. then you just press 'start recording' or
something like that (haven't got it here, so I can't check)

open up the volume control panel>options>properties.

click what you want to record from. easy.

I like soundforge, its a nice program, only sound editor I
use really

and nothing else? have you tried muting the mic, then play a
mp3 or something and record that?

always worked for me, but then I've never had any fancy
soundcards either.

you should be able to select the source somewhere though..
either in windows or in soundforge (in windows you can set
the default recording source by going to control panel ->
multimedia/sounds and audio devices. dunno about soundforge.

its the same, its the default for the system, soundforge
can't change it internally

Soundforge is awesome! I've had the 5.0 version a pretty
long time now...it's not that different from the 4th
version, tho...

Mr_Flappy: remember to check your Wave Out Mix box in the
recording control panel----
