Hey, I was listening to one of my friend's mix cd that he
created with a bunch of Richard's songs, and one of them was
really awesome and I would like to find out which album it
is on but he doesnt know the name of it, nor do I. It was
very cool and had thunder-claps looped into it, does that
sound familiar to anyone? please help!

It sounds to me like it could be the one, "At the heart of
it all", has deep rumblin sorts of noises and a slow
industrial beat...... Its located on the NIN mix cd, Further
down the spiral.... =)

Maybe you're thinking of Pulsewidth? It has some storm
sounds kind of mixed in there around the start. Atmospheric
stuff in the background...

okay, a thunder-clap is the action that thunder does. Also,
if I don't have the CD its on, don't know the name of it,
and have only heard it once, how can I possibly describe it
more than the most out-standing part of the song that I
remember, (hence the thunder)? And in reply to the comment
to buy all of Richard James' cd's, I could do that, or if I
found out which cd that song is on I cold just buy that
album instead and save a bunch of money. In fact, I just
bought 5 Aphex Twin CD's in an effort to do just that, and
now I am taking a different approach. So thanks I guess.

why not ask your friend who made the mix what track it is?

It's called "on" you know, ... "on", (the cd name is "on")
If you can't find "on" look for a cd by aphex twin with the
shortest title, the first letter should look like a little
circle and the second letter should look like a drooping r.
(there's only 2 letters, "o" and "n") I hope I could help.

Oh for fuck's sake, listen to Pulsewidth from Selected
Ambient Works 85-92! There is THUNDERCLAPS near the start!
Isn't there? Anyone know what I mean, are those
thunderclaps?

Ok, thanks for all the help, the song turned out to be On,
that is the only aphex twin song I have heard thus far that
has actual lightning in it, and yes, I have listened to all
the other possibilities. Peace

I have ambient 85-92 and dont recall any thunder, but you
could be right, but On is the song that I was looking for

I think it's interesting how all of us have our different
theories of what he's talking about. I immediately thought
of at the heart of it all and on. And lots of people
thought it was didgeridoo. And still others had different
opinions.

Proof that Aphex is quite possibly beyond words?

Spookyluke, I couldnt agree more, even though I heard no
thunder in Didgeridoo, and I would also like to point out
that my description was partially flawed, until I heard On
again, I thought it was thunderclaps but turned out to be
more of a breaking storm, like marlowe suggested.... cool.
