kid a vs. amnesiac

so while we're on a radiohead tip:

what's your favourite out of these two, and why ?

me: kid a.

because: it floats so much better as a whole, and it manages
brilliantly to keep the atmosphere throughout. besides, i
think the more "experimental" tracks on kid a, are far
better than the ones on amnesiac. amnesiac seems like a
"compilation" of songs rather than a full-length album to
me. still love it, of course, but this fact make me love kid
a more. and besides, kid a was our first glimpse at what
"experimental" post-OK Computer radiohead sounded like. a
landmark album, really.

yeah Kid A for me too... Amnesiac has some excellent songs,
but Kid A just seems like a better ALBUM, where Amnesiac
seems like a collection of songs that didn't make Kid A...
which I guess it is, but hopefully you get my point that Kid
A seems to work together as a whole better...

oh, you said pretty much the same thing... I had read the
topic title, and the first part of your message and then
posted... I just read the rest... :)

I can't wait till some new Radiohead though...

They're both so good..it's very hard to decide. But I guess
as for the album as a whole, i'd go with Kid A. You've got
the stuff leading up to How to disappear completely (my fave
song ever), the nice break with treefingers, and then the
rest of the album.

Kid A is the better for me. Basically for the same above
reasons.

It would be wrong for me to say I like one radiohead CD
better then the other. Kid A is fucking great. But Amnesiac
does it for me. Radiohead's live recordings is also great.

ive got to go with kid a also. amnesiac aint bad, but it
really does feel like leftovers. damn good leftovers, but
still, leftovers.

but ok computer is far better than both imo.

hmmmm. Kid A is probably the greatest album of all
time.. it totally blew my mind for some time after it came
out.
that being said I enjoy and listen to Amnesiac alot more
nowadays so its my favorite right now.

Kid A is better because - as has already been said- it flows
better but remember... in the sleeve for Amnesiac it DOES
say that those tracks were recorded during the Kid A
sessions. Sounds to me that it wouldve been better that way
than to release a double length album. Admittedly Amnesiac
does have its moments too (Knives Out, Pyramid Song, Like
Spinning Plates) If you havent heard the Amnesiac B-Sides
then I suggest you should get hold of them.... especially
"The Amazing Sounds Of Orgy" and "Transatlantic Drawl"!
