I don't know why this album gets such a bad rap, it's
excellent... I've read so many reviews where they say it was
nothing compared to Tri Repetae, but I disagree... while I
believe Tri Repetae is excellent, Chiastic Slide is head and
shoulders above it... and sure even Autechre themselves said
it wasn't an adequate follow-up album didn't they? How so, I
just don't see it... I think this album is amazing!!!

it's considered as one of the best releases by the folks at
warp.

there ain't a bad track on the whole thing...

i think it's good in parts. especially the first four tracks
are good. i still think the last half gets quite
boring...it's all crunchy and nice, but the songs seem to
last a bit too long. some of the tracks are really great,
especially cipater, but some of the last tracks just seem to
evolve too slowly, and the album sort of looses its momentum
halfway through.

yeah I agree to a certain extent... track 7 and 8 run a bit
long, but I still think they're great songs...

nah man, Nuane is excellent!!!

the only track i find a little repetitive is pule. but it's
far from being a boring track. i like the mechanical feel
that chiastic slide has. and the cover art is really cool,
perfect for the music.

too me its kinda like autechre departing from one thing too
another, but not quite pulling it off...... you know...
great album but theres something not right aout the whole
thing

i dont get why people dislike nuane.

trivia: "pule" means "f*cking", as in the sexual act of
looooove in norwegian.

really! ill have to put that song on next time, to see if
it really fit in that context...

so what's everyone's favorite track off the album? i cant
decide. maybe cipater... or tewe... or cichli... or
calbruc...

you see, it's not easy to name a single favorite track!

hehe! i don't hear it...

it's quite laidback and nice though...a bit on the side,
maybe. could do nicely if you put it on at a low volume in
the background. you could hear some occasional rumbles from
the speakers...

:o)

I fucking LOVE Recury... maybe my favorite Autechre track of
all time. It's so repetitive, that little 2 second melody,
but it sounds so good, I can't explain...

Chiastic Slide is so ''crunchy''... that can get a little
annoying, but I think it's an amazing album, better than Tri
Repetae.

it's more challenging than tri rep, that's for sure.

and how about the short rettic ac? always reminds me of the
sound it makes when you walk on snow.

my favorite right now I think is Cipater... but they're all
good...

yeah, Chiastic Slide was my second Autechre album after
Incunabula, so it took me a while to really get into it...
it's so dense though, I hear new things all the time...

eh...i like a few of the tracks...but aside from those
tracks...it tends to be one of those albums that cant quite
keep my attention
i guess it may be the combination of grating sounds and
redundancy...both of which i can stand seperately..

I'm listening now. I felt like a Chiastic Slide day. It
goes well with a formal lab report for my chemistry class.

nuane is a great track. it like it that long. in some way
chiastic slide seems to be between tri rep end ep7 though i
don't know the exact release sequence now

it was Tri Repetae, Chiastic Slide, then LP5, and EP7...

I agree with you Funkmaster. Chiastic Slide is one of my
favorites. There really isn't a bad track on it, imo.
