Which videogames did you most anticipate *before* they were
released (ie they are now released, but before they came out
you were really looking forward to)?

And also what are you waiting for now?

My most anticipated game was probably F-Zero X, it didn't
dissapoint :)

I'm currently waiting for:
Super Ghouls and Ghosts, Elite and Manic Miner all on the
Gameboy Advance.

Unreal Tournament, Quake 3, ONI, Soldier of Fortune, Max
Payne, Giants: Citizen kabuto...

At the moment I am eagerly awaiting SoF 2, Quake 4, Doom
3...

I can't remember.

Did anyone have Desert Strike? How racist was that?!
Shooting Iraqis for fun and shit. I'm ashamed. Why couldn't
they produce a game where you could kill Americans or UN
soldiers?

My girlfriend has got desert strike (and jungle strike, the
sequel). I nearly played it this weekend.

I like the "Madman" a thinly disguised saddam. Brilliant
propaganda game...
Nearly as good as "Return Fire" where whenever you paused
the game a message was displayed saying "Don't just play it,
do it" and had the phone number for US army recruitment
offices!

Doom 3 isn't out yet, Doom 3 is a 3D quake-like game. Fianl
doom was cool though, those SVGA graphics...

ahh, thankx, ignore my last post

BTW, one of my fave points about Soldier of Fortune is that
you get to kill Serbs. I hate fucking serbs!!!

Ha ha, SoF was mad. "Vile anarchist porn" as PC ZOne
descibed it. I remeber being genuinley shocked the first
time I blew peoples legs of at the knee...

I am serbian. That's how I know the fuckers are so fucked.

Ceri JC: Yeah, blowing those limbs away was fun, but the
story was laughable. But it was OK, I played it three times
and am waiting for the sequel... Doom 3 is due to be out by
autumn I think. I've seen the shots and it looks
unbelievable, Quake 3 looks laughable in comparison.

although it will probably need new hardware to be run on,
but John Karmak somewhere said that GeForce 4 will not be
neede, so we will be comfortable with GF3... As if that was
comforting...

came out, I was SO fucking excited... going up to the mall
to pick up my Chrono Cross and my free Chrono Clock was
great... but they were all out of Chrono Clocks!!! Fucking
bastards.

Oooh, Super Mario Brothers 3... I lived in this super small
town when I got it, and there was this buzz... it was
amazing... I remember being at my friends house amongst a
crowd of like 20 people all watching these two people who
made it to the 8th world for the first time... it was so
cool...

I thought that was the coolest shit when it came out. Too
bad it sucked . . .

Yep!

From what I've heard they may be using a new set of dev
tools that get the 3d polygon count/smoothness nearly as
fast as a PSone. One to watch out for. Oh Elite on the NES,
how many hours did I spend on you?

There was a similair thing for the PSX, that never took of

Funk: I remember seeing SMB3 for the first time too.
Brilliant.

hmmm I don't think PC owners will agree with you there...
it's one of the slowest FPS's I've ever played

offline shibumi from United States on 2002-04-30 20:39 [#00201439]
Points: 359 Status: Lurker

Yeah, but it's also different than PC FPS, because you have
to process the data on everyone else's screen. Makes it
more of a headfuck IMHOP

You're right about it being very different to a PC one.

That said I have goldeneye and perfect dark and have played
lots of other console FPS and I prefer PC FPSs

offline Loogie from Oxford (United Kingdom) on 2002-04-30 20:45 [#00201455]

interesting.... of course when you're PC multiplayering on
the LAN you can't see your opponents screens. unless you
look over their shoulders :)

Yeah, I grew up on console's and I think it's just my
personal obsession with Goldeneye. Too many college
evening's spent with my friends in a dark room with bleary
eyes, Goldeneye, and crystal method.
