Trying to buy Game Cube??

As for me Game Cube is the best, if you want real old
school video games then Game Cube is what you need.

As for that rich bastard Bill Gates(XBOX) he wanted to buy
Game Cube for 25 billion dollars, I'm sure Nintendo didnt
even consider it since XBOX simply sucks, to digital, stick
with the computers guy.

He tried it with Sega and that failed, so now he was going
after the Game Cube.

Thats it.

I am so glad that the Microsoft XBOX is doing so badly here
in the UK! The machine has barely been on the shelves 5
minutes and the price has been slashed from £300 to £200.
A desperation tactic if you ask me! And I also here that
Nintendo intend to undercut Microsoft in the pricing now of
the XBOX - He heh he he !!

Microsoft should've know better than to tackle the likes of
Nintendo and Sony.

I have a PS2 and it's the business, and although Gamecube
looks good, I fear that is (as ever) will not have the same
'volume' of variety that SONY has allways offered. But
nevertheless, a good machine.

Tough luck Mr Gates....stick to your PC software!

Xbox has it's good points -- all the current top consoles
do. I guess if I had to choose i'd go w/ a PS2.

There was a funny headline on Fark about that attempted
nintendo buyout -- "Microsoft offer to purchase Nintendo for
$25billion declined, world domination averted"

Yeah I agree with you JEdi Chris, and the only thing Xbox is
good for is those fighting games like Quake except Quake is
computer.

And yeah thats where I read the news xlr, on Fark. But as
I'm typing this I'm getting an Game Cube i'm right now the
happiest girl.

I tried the gamecube in best buy a few weeks ago...it was
pretty cool. It was some star wars game. I like the
controller a lot -- but the n64 still has the best one ever.

I read that Nintendo of America were kinda taking the $25
billion take over seriously after Microsoft told them it
wasn't a joke. They actually had a few meetings and then
presented it to Nintendo of Japan, who took 1 second
thinking about it and (probably laughed their asses off)
before saying a nice big fat Nintendo NO! =D lol

Following last month's rather shocking revelation that
Microsoft had originally tapped Sega to develop the Xbox,
it's now been revealed that at one point Microsoft was
dealing with Nintendo too. In fact, Microsoft was all but
set to outright buy the company.

According to a new book called Opening the Xbox: Inside
Microsoft's Plan to Unleash an Entertainment Revolution,
Microsoft was at one point all set to plunk down 25 billion
for the Japanese game giant. As the book describes,
Nintendo's U.S. president Minoru Arakawa wasn't sure what to
think when Microsoft made the offer. "I was surprised,"
Arakawa admitted. "We didn't need the money. I thought it
was a joke."

Nontheless, Arakawa and Nintendo of America took the offer
seriously and brought discussions to its corporate office in
Japan. "Some Nintendo executives seemed interested and the
meetings went on through the winter," the book describes.
"The parties met six or seven times. Microsoft wanted
Nintendo to drop its GameCube console and get behind the
Xbox. But Hiroshi Yamauchi, the aging CEO and Nintendo,
didn't like the idea. By January 2000, the talks were over."

The two companies parted ways and wished each other luck.
"Our ability to remain independent was unquestioned due to
our financial status," Nintendo of America executive vice
president stated in the book. "And it became clear that our
objectives and their objectives were not the same."

So while Microsoft discussions with Sega and Nintendo
ultimately both broke down, the games industry sure would be
a different place had they led to something. To read more
about Microsoft's attempts to partner with both Sega and
Nintendo, check out the book.

nintendo is more for children with all their super mario
games. when the n64 got out, half the people i know that
bought one sold it immediatly for a ps. itll be the same
with the game cube and it's kid-oriented vision. ill take a
ps2 over the cube any day.

Well yes I also read about that on Fark. As for Star Wars
its a freaking hard game, with that you really have to get
used to the controllers, so no Cortex its not a childrens
game, theres no 3- and older label on the front if thats
what youre saying. Its just a console with games, just
games.

Resident Evil is coming out on Nintendo too, that shits
going to be out of hand, I cant wait!!!

resident evil coming to the game cube is very surprising to
me! maybe nintendo are changing a little.

and i didnt mean to say that nintendo exclusively make games
for kids, but that it's the most children-oriented console
between the big 3 (ps2 cube xbox). how many mario bros.
games can you make?

It's stupid image-conscious idiots who made playstation
successful in the first place. One such person said that he
didn't buy an n64 because "it looks like a toy."

yeah right, thats a total trick man

Damnit does this mean i have to change my icon?? thats
another topic, but I'll still say that the picture sucks.

Yeah Nintendo has a lot of those easy games like Pikmin too
not only Mario Bros. Even though I want one!!
and it also has Spider-Man.

They make the best hardware because they know gamers
(PS2/PS1 controller direct ripoff of SNES, all gaming
controllers of today copied Nintendo's ideas)...And they
made and still make the best games...Although PS2 has made
some stuff that I do enjoy, I will stick with Nintendo

tha't quote is oo true...that damn gates just wants to get
another one of his tenticles into the console world...and
btw...the reason why i play console games over PC, is
becuase PC games tend to suck ASS! so why the hell would i
buy a console that plays PC game wannabes?

(there are expections to PC games sucking...i heard that
Deus EX was great...and i liked counterstrike a bit...)
