when i was browsing through a shop one day.....
i came across a cd in a totally black cd cover, not see-thru
with paper under, just solid black plastic. on it was
inscribed the word 'autechre'. can anyone tell me what
release this was? autechre.nu didnt seem to help.

A black and a dark grey album would be a veeery big
coincidence...
I don't have it,but a friend of mine does,
I'll ask him.

Sounds like Tri-Replicate to me...

The copy in the local HMV is the same...kinda completely
black/dark-grey plastic...

its lp5... no big mystery, thats how it was originally
packaged... in the USA, they have some cheaper packaging
out, thou when it first came out it was all black plastic,
"autechre" imprint on front cover, "ae" imprint on back...

Phew...I'm glad this got sorted...was about to buy that CD
from HMV thinking it was tri++ (I'd actually hidden the CD
in the Suede section...didn't want any other fucker getting
it before me; guess I better put it back..;)..)
