 | wizards teeth: If you want to hear some of my music (for remixing purposes maybe), go to
 members.fortunecity.com/fragilenine/naxmusic.html and
 download all of the songs.

Answering your question on midi: No it's not possible to
convert wav to midi files. Midi files only contain the notes
to play certain samples contained on your soundcard. If you
have a soundcard that supports SoundFont (SB Live!, AWE 64,
etc.), you can load your own samples into the soundcard to
use in midi music, but that's about as far as midi goes.
Basically midi files are just a series of 'commands' (called
events) that trigger certain things (eg. notes, pitch
slides, effects, etc.), and they do NOT actually include any
 wave data.
 I hope that was understandable...

 | just a note...i was reading above about *.wav not being able to be converted into *.mid ...and, i'd just like to say that
it is infact possible. Their is software which u can
download (freeware i think), and it allows you to either
record or use a current wave file, which it then converts
into midi, ready for either midi usage or notation. It works
really well if one track at a time is being done. So, yup,
wav can be converted into midi without too many worries...

 | Correction: This program (known as WAV2MIDI) can only convert the
melody to a midi file, not the actual wave data (ie.
samples, vocals, etc.). It is possible to make a WAV file
into a MIDI file by transferring the notes, *BUT* the
original sample/s that you used to play this melody don't
get transferred. This is bad for recorded guitars/vocals...

let joyrex beat you and I ate pineapple icecream today too,
and was thinking of buying some fish or a cat or something,
do you have any fish? No? I did not think so, did you shed a
tear for the Americans when they were attacked? I cried in
that film The Fifth Element, you know when Milla Jovovich is
in the back of Bruce Willis' taxi and she starts crying and
 says "please help."

 ''
