Which is your all time favourite console (taking the games
for it into consideration)?

Mine would have to be the Megadrive.

And also which consoles do you/have you own(ed)?

Strange 70s plug into TV Pong-thing, Nes, Snes, Megadrive,
N64, Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, PSOne, Dreamcast.

I have owned: NES, SNES, Gameboy, Super NES, Playstation.

I would have to say out of all of then, the NES was my fav.
but I sold it to my brother so I could get the SNES. That
was really stupid I know. Mind you the SNES was good too.

I learnt after swapping my first genesis for a snes never to
get rid of an old console. The nostalgia of getting it out
in a few years far exceeds and small "cash back" in part
exchange or sale.

Sega Dreamcast is my favourite of all time :) I love it so
very much!

Own/Owned: Atari 2600, NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Vectrex,
Gameboy, Gameboy Colour, Gameboy Advance, Megadrive, Saturn,
Dreamcast, Playstation, Playstation2.

They recently (for only about 2 weeks) had them in all the
South Wales games shops. They also had atari lynxes and Game
gears (all brand new) for sale. IT was really weird, they
must have had a load in a warehouse they'd forgotten about.

The only console I've ever had is the DC. I bought it really
cheap (550SEK) last summer. Mainly because of Crazy Taxi and
CT2.

The Megadrive is the European (and australian?) name for the
Sega Genesis.

SNES, the excitement of a new game was much higher than it
is now. I must have read the reviews of Starfox and Zelda a
million times

I have owned: Atari 2600, NES, SNES, Gameboy, PSX and now I
use emulators.

I only got one about 6 months ago, I probably play Crazy
Taxi 2 most- my girlfriend likes it and always insists on
playing it when she comes over.

I'm not sure about an absolute favourite, either Soul
Calibur (Tekken 4 is rubbish in comparison) or MSR.

How about you?

I've owned all F-Zero games so far. Have you heard about the
next one?

Sega AND Nintendo are working on it!
Sega are totally in control of development of the arcade
version.

I'm not sure about an absolute favourite as well! I just
can't pick! It would be out of MSR, Soul Calibur, Shenmue or
Jet Set Radio.

Most people think I'm crazy but when I first heard news
about the new Sega console I felt that this was the console
for me. I felt somehow contected to it (Yes, I'm not on
drugs!!) lol

I'm such a Dreamcast holic, I buy anything with a Dreamcast
logo on it, I watch Arsenal games purely to see the logo!!
(BTW, Go the Gunners!!)

I just love it so much, I'm very passionate about the whole
thing and very angry how it all turned out :(

Still the ones who missed out have missed a lot of great
gaming (IMO).

Been playing heaps of Rez lately!

Long live Sega!!

what Sega do with the arcade version!!

And I forgot to include Resident Evil CODE: Veronica in my
DC faves.

I've got all the games you said as favourites!

I really can't think of any Dreamcast games I *HAVE* to get
- I've got all the classics...

Its a shame that in games as in music so much is due to
successful marketing rather than the quality that decides
what gets bought...

I own a PSOne and play PS2 a fair bit, but I've never been a

"Its a shame that in games as in music so much is due to

I totally agree with you.

I forgot to mention Toy Commander. It's rather under-rated.
It's so addictive and fun, it's clear it was made and
crafted with so much love!

It's such a pity that Toy Commander's developers No Cliché
went out of business. They were developing this awesome
horror title called Argatha. It will probably never be
released :( It just make me really mad whtn lots of crap
games come out and some really talented people can't get
their games released because there system is regarded as
uncool or people don't know or don't care about it because
it does not have successful marketing.

Gamers Republic was like my bible, until it finished because
probably of poor sales. It seems as if every 'hardcore'
gaming mag has vanished (Next Gen, Game Fan, GR etc). Pity,
Gamers Republic was my favourite mag, always supported the
Dreamcast. The design was second to none (IMO), they loved
gaming and it really showed. And on many occassions in their
top 5 most listened to CD's Aphex Twin was there many
times!!! =D

I'll stop ranting now! I gotta get some sleep!

I think the DC is the best next gen console out of the PS2,
Gamecube, and Xbox.

The graphics are better than the PS2 & Gamecube and the
games are better than the Xbox (Even though they got the MSR
sequel- project gotham :( ).
It's also much cheaper and has 4 joypad ports as standard
and a modem included.

And it make a great noise as it connects to the internet!

Maybe, but as of a few days ago, all future rez game rights
have been guaranteed to nintendo systems. They're also
remaking ALL the existing ones (except survivour) for the
Gamecube.

I only have Res 3 on the PSone. It's good, but not really my
kind of game.

Rez = United Games Artists game that came out on Dreamcast.
If Sega never lost so much money and had to abandon the
Dreamcast hardware Rez would have been Dreamcast exclusive.
Sigh, so many great titles no one knows about. Atleast with
the Dreamcast's faliure more people are getting to play
their games, like Asche XL! Rez rocks!

Res/sometimes Rez = short name for Resident Evil. Nintendo
do have the series exclusive! That's what Ceri means when he
says of the 4 rez games! Probably!!

I was playing F-zero today and thinking about rez when I had
what is,IMO, a brilliant idea for a game. A very fast
futuristic bike game (think extreme-g) where each section of
the track has a note. Therefore, the faster you go the
quicker the music. When you're stopped it just plays the
same note again and again (this could be used like the 3
starting beeps in racing games at the very start of the
race. Third note and you're off!), when driving the wrong
way, the music would play in reverse.

You could even make it so that you could put your own music
CD in and it'd generate a tracka round it (like Vib Ribbon.)

What do you lot think?
