Nope, those things are really annoying anyhow.

Do you really want to hear a sound every time you open a
folder on your start menu?

On the other hand you can always turn off the sounds that
come on too often. So here you are, the official
Starcraft sound scheme. Sorry that's all I could come
up with =)

You could always make your own.

Atleast your almost there! I got a long road ahead of me.
Anyway, cant help you since I dont use XP, too new. Plus all
my programming stuff is for Windows 2000, so I gotta stick
with that.

I made my own sound scheme.
all the sounds are very quiet and short little percussive
blips. I can tell the difference only by the difference in
timber "pop" vs. "TK!"
it's quiet sonically unobtrusive and still gets the job
done.

I like sound schemes, I find them to be rather helpful.
Sometimes they do bug, and I wish I could set them up myself
so that they would make the sounds I want.
