it will sound shit on phone, sounds fine on speakers/headphones.
i don't know how to record or mix well. i am not able to do mastering.
i threw it together pretty quickly with an mpc and a few synths.
i don't need feedback on arrangement/composition, but how it actually *sounds* i.e. quality, levels, frequency ranges, volumes, etc. because that is what i currently suck at and need to focus on.

If it sounds like shit on my phone which it doesn’t, I’d like to hear it on some real speakers
Don’t be so hard on….. Yourself dude.
It sounds good and I’m going to listen to others if that’s okay? I’d buy a cd 💿 or a rekerd, If those are affordable
My shit phone speakers are just fine

First, I think its mad pretentious to only ask for a specific type of feedback, as if your composition is so sacrosanct that you aren't able to use feedback to improve. I dunno, if you post a track just put it out there and take the feedback or dont post it. Its annoying enough to click an amateur spam but its downright unappetizing when you add those sort of qualifiers.
The track is decent, though it wears out its welcome by the end, because the fundamental melody isn't particularly interesting and youve shown it too many times without enough variation. When it locks in it sounds pretty good. I would just literally turn down the sharp lead a bit. Its loud in the mix (stock car stereo listen). I like the pads at 1:20.

I think my posts was clear! But what I'll clarify a bit is "its annoying to click an amateur spam."
That wasn't specific to hev. It applies to anyone who is didn't specifically seek out. I paused a listen of autechre- plus to listen to this track 3 times. Because I wanted to reward his effort in making music, really no other reason. So if ima do that, I want carte blanche on my feedback, full stop.

the arrangement/composition was done in about 5 minutes and was secondary to the overall goal of *recording* a track, hence my reason for not being particularly interested in feedback over something that i spent very little time & energy on; i already know it is lacking in that department.
trying to get the damn mix to sound right was what took up all my time and it's still scaring me away from committing my more developed ideas i have sitting around. i essentially have these shit tracks/disposable tracks to get out of the way first, where i kind of use each as something to teach myself one thing i can apply to the next.
the lead & bass were the 2 things i was wondering about the most, because the lead never sounded consistent across my monitors, headphones, or in the car, so i didn't know how to handle it. the bass definitely sounds like shit on phone (too deep), but wasn't sure if it sounded wide/muddy/overbearing compared to everything else. mixing & eq'ing on an analog board is so difficult.

Why, if you were worried about receiving feedback about sound "quality", would you post as an example something so juvenile and execrable as to not warrant any meaningful engagement?

quitted halfway through but i like the use of modwheel, but 5 minutes of that maybe too much
energy in the analog sound i agree, bit less on arrangement/composition

basic human nature/human psychology: i've been called arrogant & pretentious by 2 people in this thread and i'm expected to remain civil & respectful towards them, correct?
a) "yes"
b) "no"
c) deflect/non answer (which is another way of saying "yes")

we're good, wolf. i can tell the content of your character from your post: most won't stand on what they said and even more people these days expect the other to sit there and take it. sometimes i have to separate out the wheat from the chaff with some of my own pushback.

One thing I believe 100%: everyone who does anything worthwhile arrived there thru practice, consistent, focused work. Were talking RDJ, autechre, and micheal jordan. Never natural talent, that only takes you so far and blocks helpful critique. All I'm advocating pure and simple is keep banging out tunes. Practice makes perfect. And ill peep the work if I'm around.

That's too long of a read for me today. I'm saving my juice to read mb 100 pages of Stephen King's Holly later tonight. Getting caught up with his work, I've read all the Holly books-- the Mr. Mercedes trilogy, the Outsider, If it Bleeds (which contains the *fantastic* novella Rat). Holly, the novel, not the character, is unfortunately the worst of the lot. Repetitive and preachy. But im invested in the character now.
Im sure his glorious leader wrote a decent treatise there, between burning down museums. The most interesting part of natural talent vs practiced ability is how much a bit of natural talent blocks you when you hit a wall. You're either good or you aren't with a natural talent mindset, where the mediocre pleb keeps putting in work and getting better.
