What are your thoughts on eating, being eaten, digesting, being digested? Why is the cosmos we inhabit organized in such a way that organisms swallow others? Does the meat of the fish gain a higher being when it becomes part of your body? If a large animal would swallow you and you would sit in its stomach, how would you understand this situation? Can your soul (psyche) be eaten? Who has the mouth to do that? Can your emotions be eaten? Is listening to music, looking at art pictures a form of eating? If you could clarify some of these points, I would be happy. Thank you! |

ive been chewing on this matter of fact these thoughts are hard to digest. when i eat fish i usually am happy to imagine the fish doesnt know too much about its fate and that my body greatly benefits from eating it. as an employee i usually am fine with being just a small part, which is greatly benefited from. its just the pointy teeth that hurt me from time to time. |

can't help but read the first part of this as psychosexual and it kind of is also it's very weird we drink mothers milk of animals of other species but drinking our own after a certain age, is taboo binging a television series, for instance, does feel kind of like devouring (now thinking of the Hannibal scene in which he eats a painting) |

i guess we consume emotions a lot. be it by social interaction, watching TV and whatnot. so part of your souls can be consumed. (not in a finite or countable matter i think, but we do have a reward system that is activated with emotive interaction or even watching such.) how does the japanese animism fit into this? is it sort of projecting life and emotion onto things? and how does our material thinking compare to it? |
