oh yeah, was offered that clip a week ago too.
was quite interesting.
sometimes i wondered how the precise steps in bbballs were
made and if they are that accurately programmed or actual
samples. i remember 1997 and how pcs were before i started
making music. it was a different age.
now you have can buy a multiverse of pc software.

imo, whats really special to show is how all that music was
basically tracker music. i thought that it makes sense in a
way how rdjs music from that era is in style, but also how
clear sounding it is. If i went berserk like that with
multiple machines id had a hard time not making a bloody
mess playing too many sounds at once.

of course the other software was the main topic of that
video and tracker stuff is no news to anybody here,
but still..

it's really no mystery, it was 1995, he had a computer, and
spent fucking ages editing stuff together and got really
'good' at it, like you would expect if you spend ages doing
something. I'm talking like 11 hours a day for months on
end, because what else is there to do.

The monetized, obvious youtuber trying to capture a zoomer
audience with a particulary obnoxious vernacular?

Or the crusty sod ridden old brit wo posts 3 vexed replies
about the youtubers use of the word "batshit?"

I think I know who i'd rather have as a roomate.

At approximately 9:15 Saturday morning, Brockton Police
received a 911 call for a report that a 2-year-old boy was
found unresponsive in a backyard above-ground swimming pool
at 111 Ardsley Circle.

oh id imagine it to have been very time consuming,
no matter how he did it.
in case youd expected me to think a magic software did all
the work, i do know, the key element is spending time with
your software/equipment

since rdj was studying electronics and is known for using
all kinds of stuff it is however really interesting to me
what exactly it was that he used/combined.

on a side note for example i remember setting my files to a
bpm of 200 and above in jeskola buzz to double the input
possibilities for making breakbeats around 2004, when time
stretching, i hadnt known, of was already a thing in other
software and acheiven interesting results.

the information about what he used, which feels correct. he
just leaves off most of his sources, which is his
prerogative (and understandable looking at these kinds of
comments)

i hate that guy and have hated him ever since he used
aphex's name decades ago to flood file sharing services with
his own music falsely labeled as tentative drukqs tracks.
kinda just like with this video and how he's piggybacking
off of aphex again to get his name out there. fuck you, your
eyebrow, and the extra n in your name, benn. i have
intentionally avoided all of his content since he came onto
my radar in the 00s. i had avoided his work so much that you
could almost consider my hatred for him unfair, but his
disingenuousness is more than enough because once again, i
don't hate his music (basically never even fucking listened
to it), i hate his character. and his stupid eyebrow. smarmy
little psuedointellectual fuck. but then again, he's
probably so smarmy he gets off on having "haters".

well as an american, there is a thought experiment i like to
put people in to judge where they're at in this
sociopolitical/ideological environment the modern
progressive west has become to ascertain where said
individual might stand on this purity spiral to hell that
their culture is, a little test if you will: he's such a fag
that if you called him fag to his face, rather than accept
the fact that males colloquially call other males that when
they're, you know, being all "faggy" and stuff (and as men
we all know being faggy has nothing to do with homosexuality
or being gay, adding a layer to his disingenuousness), he
would use the opportunity to deflect away from being
insulted to his face like that and instead call you
homophobic/bigoted and use the moment to virtue signal
because it's all about the "higher ground" for people like
him. i'm surprised he hasn't put out a video this month
about "your favorite gay synthesizer" or "how drum machines
are trans" or whatever for pride (given there's a lot of
weird virtue signaling/politic tied into synthtube
now...though it's not that weird because everything is
downstream i.e. culture trickles into every subculture
contained within it i.e. i skateboard and it even seeps into
that media). don't be faggy like benn.

so, hev,
what is your info or guess about what equipment/software
aphex used around the time of ctd?

i bet the answears to that are all out on watmm, for years,
but since this is a board that rather trolls the few
remaining members,
than to stay on topic, we may never find out.

i've done that for autechre tracks. still had my tracks
labeled as 'dancingCowboys' and stuff (and didn't really
sound like autechre). i think it's within filesharing
etiquette
