I would love to spend two hours watching who ?
defending himself calling Mickey Mouse gay ten years ago for
two hours, but I do have chores.

truly conservative comedy=
"I identify as an attack helicopter" or some version of
that. fucking boring.

but hardcore progressives view normal comedy as conservative
so it gets all mingled. funny is funny, "I identify as"
jokes just arent. I still remember an obscenely racist joke
on Comedy Central when I was a kid. He was like "Indian in
the Cupboard? More like Indian in the liquor cabinet." That
was actually funny because Native Americans have somewhat of
a drinking problem. Wouldn't fly today tho.

All that said, I can't bring myself to watch the vid (not in
the mood for politics lately) but I see u gave my tune a
like big, thanks to you and genuinely have a good
afternoon/evening/night.

anyone wanna join me in London in 5 years time and watch a
bunch of telly "comedy" from the last ten years and see who
is laughing?

there is no such thing as conservative comedy, its a
contradiction in terms
but the "conservative" is always defined as the OLD ORDER,
the previous fuddy duddy who is too entrenched in their
world view, and well.... what is that these days?
u wanna watch that pendulum

Mr Joel (aka Henry) gives two examples of conservative
comedy he likes, though they can almost be seen as saying
that conservative comedy doesn't exist. he likes (recent)
Roseanne, because she's being honest (which doesn't mean
funny, necessarily). and he likes Matt Stone and Trey
Parker. with the latter he says he especially likes the
first half hour of Team America, but he also says that's
pretty much the progressive part of the movie

(i agree with mr. Mcqueen)

Listen to BBC Radio 4's comedy output if you want to know
what it's like to be, as an audience, frogmarched toward the
bit you have to laugh at, regardless of how unfunny and
tepid the swipe at "the Tories" or Brexit led you there.

geoff norcott is a shit though, he's often there on the news
quiz to balance the panel with his apologetic blokey-bloke
"common sense"

right wing comedy makes me think of bernard manning, jim
davidson, roy chubby brown et al. doubleplus ungood

I liked Jim Davidson as a child, as I liked Benny Hill.
Davidson was still mainstream until about twenty years ago,
with the (appalling) Generation Game and the (impenetrable)
Big Break. Obviously these days audiences would rather
having boiling oil injected into their eyes than admit to
watching Jim Davidson.

I never understood Manning ("Geezer walks into a pub...
Asian fella") but then I was never Northern. Something, like
not knowing anything about football, I regret.

Roy Chubby Brown, Jethro... they were sort of acts other
people's dodgy uncles had on vhs.

heard anything but smutty silliness
