It’s not random but I’ve been thinking about energy
vampires lately.

that, alright, i hear a snide comment that perhaps you were
not even consciously making. and i'm an honest person and
i've stressed on the question. i am being somewhat draining
with the deluges, and what, ultimately, is the point?

i was at a bar just now, and it's friday and peak hours and
i've effectively snagged a clever seat at the bar, and it's
right at the nexus of the manic filling of cups and ice and
hurrying about and the register and

i can feel the tension of it all flying around me and it
bothers me. i want these people to relax. to feel
appreciated. that i know the waitress and the more... i
dunno the terms, guy running water cups and mixing. that
he's not taking care of me, it's the waitress, but i'm right
in front of him, and it's on him that does he need to ask me
if i need another beer

and no. i mean nothing but love here and i want you to relax
and calm down and not stress because i feel this same sort
of stress just walking down the street and i respect it and
i am just watching you two whiz around and doing nothing but
feeling your pain

that the waitress is supposed to ask me how the burger is,
but she has to wait until i've eaten a bit, and she has to
keep an eye on this until i have, and then ask me. and maybe
somewhere around then she's remembering that i've said this
is the best burger in walking distance and are you kidding?
it's fantastic. that's why i'm here. calm down

that i felt it was almost time for the burger to arrive and
so i do the thing where i unpack the napkin roll and lap the
napkin and promptly someone shows up asking me if this is
mine, and it's someone else's. i laugh, no. i just did this
about three minutes early and you misread the signal

that what i want is nothing more than for people to take
something from all this and get something out of it

I'm not being funny, right, but I do think Autechre pinched
a lot of my ideas.

re: bottle: Smart Bottleâ„¢

re: re-oger: I'm not being funny, right, but I do think

think about how i feel when, oh... i'm certain the p50
sensory gating wave is key to why nicotine helps
schizophrenics, but how, really, am i to even begin to prove
this? now you can read a paper detailing why i'm right and i
said it years before

but i ripped the p50 wave concept off from existing science.
i couldn't have found that myself [per se] and i can't prove
anything about it off by myself either.

you look at the simultaneous breakthroughs in history,
though - newton and leibniz. two men working on the same
breakthrough, and their work is so similar that we're
still split between their two styles of notation
today.

that they built their work on the work of others [shoulders
of giants etc etc] who themselves built their work off of
earlier others, and this is even before we consider the
sneaks autechre might possibly be for daring to lift your
ideas

hoard them to yourself? you still get nothing. so, these
days, it's like: well, i have taken a step, here. but other
people be making it off in parallel behind closed doors. and
if they haven't, they'll be there as soon as i open my mouth
on it.

so i reach a place, where: bea arthur nAIked? this feels
like mermaidman. it is my idea. but i don't have the setup.
and it feels like giving someone a puppy, like, i know
you'll love this one. but it's also, like -- if he doesn't
feel like bothering, whatever. someone else will do it
eventually. because it's too good of an idea to not happen
eventually. inevitable, i'd argue. natural evolution

but then also consider i might be keeping plenty to myself,
even with all i do write.

that really. someone whose high school band was "the bad
touches"

the bea arthur idea... some music journo once described the
"doctorin' the tardis" mashup as "absolutely rancid" and,
well, you see what i mean? this really belongs with him. if
he can be arsed. no worries

them

dad and i had this game that went something like: one of us
would propose a tech startup idea, and the other would shred
it to bits. and this was largely just for sheer enjoyment of
"bullshit sessions" but there was also the very valid
reason, "if it can survive this beating, it might
have a snowflake's chance in hell of succeeding"

and ideas are cheap. that we're all LLMs iterating on the
current version of science and trying to get to the next
step first.

i do let a lot of the better ones go, here. but from...
well, that's what dad and i did instead of playing
basketball? i'm also never without an immediate lockdown of
"this is a fool's errand" and actually there are some things
that survive that and i've not said

but even some things i've had. some chap got a patent for a
straw to stop hiccups based on... 100 pascals of pressure on
the diaphragm... i don't know. that, actually, no one knew.
and chinese AI promptly ripped his straw off from the photo
but none of them fucking worked because none of them
even understood the level of finesse required for the
product to actually work. and if patents are bullshit, this
is all the IP protection you have left, really -- simply for
it to be so hard that no one can rip you off

and there has been plenty of that i have said.

but if you've ripped off my ideas to create a music AI or
some shit, well, lol, you should have also asked for the
business analysis of how fucked you are as well before you
dropped time/$$ n2 it

that amongst all this -- the, yes, actually far more than
casual thot about what i actually let loose -- is, i
suppose, with all the shit i give the octopi bois [who can
be women just as easily; doesn't matter] how can avoid being
this sort of asshole myself? and i think i've actually
gotten so much out of people here, their ideas, or even
simply their reactions helping me figure shit out. so it's
only fair you get some of the good shit

you know what does feel kind of lonely?

someone you know enough to let some proper private shit go
asks how it really is, and you say it, and it's like...
their conscious mind has rejected it. that you really did
think to ask how it was and when i actually told you it was
bad enough that your brain just decided it couldn't be
possible and so it's kind of like this weird brainfart and
their conscious mind has rejected it and they're saying
something completely illogical that is pretty much like "oh
don't worry, hell will freeze over sooner or later" and
alright, i told you how it was and i guess it's bad enough
you can't consciously handle it and i'm just going to be
polite and not try and input my problems to your brain
again. and you tried but this actually just makes me feel
more eh.

most of what you think of as "you" is mostly experience
(even your body is just experience or memory), but then the
question arises "what else is it there to you?" that which
is experiencing:

every subject has a common source, subjectivity is sliced
into an endless amount of individuals, but there is no
difference in how it works for me and you or for an insect,
as the experience of everyone of us is dominated by
separating the world into subject and object, there are
basically 2 types of objects: those which the subject
understands as separate to himself and the immediate object
through which the subject knows all the objects in the first
group (its body), including other subjects bodies which are
but like other external object. the subject's knowledge of
the objects is mediated by another object.

what individualizes subjectivity is the immediate object,
other than that it works the same for every possible
subject. that is to say it exists as an archetype outside
space and time

I think "Waterfunk" as a genre has possibly got legs. I'd
like to experiment making Waterfunk. It appears a
Water-Funk (someone afraid of water, and, perhaps
specifically, swimming pools? Don't know, didn't read
that much into it) is a thing, albeit dated and a bit
American.
