a thot ~ the classic buzzfeed numbers are like "8 things"
"13 things" but pretty much never see anything as large as
"45 things¹"

and this is because humans tap out past 18 or 20 things --
or, rather, 18 or 20 junk food morsels to read while bored.
if you are instead asking people to DO THINGS AND THINK, i
wouldn't go beyond 5

but it's just a thot

that i had right after "22 things? that will take me at
least a half hour. or, knowing me, two hours"

i once wrote a computer program to pick entirely random
videos out of my pirated collection because i lost so much
time over which thing was right for right now. i
don't really have favorites like that anyways because they
change vastly depending on my mood. sneakers (1992) was a
pet project of robert redcar... er, robert fort... well, dan
ankyroriddd, sidney poiter, robert redcar, ben kingsley,
river phoenix, and probably the best blind actor i've seen
in a movie. but i don't have a huge pool there

¹ unless it's christmas soon -- and it's not 45 things,
it's 45 affiliate links.

re: sneakers (1992)

15 or 20 minutes in watch for a brief glimpse of a lovely
old sequential circuits synthesizer. i think. six trak
maybe. later in the movie the blind man saves the day with a
sequential circuits 2000 (rack edition)

this is the first time my knowledge of that has ever been
relevant. and perhaps the last. a pin drops and an indian
sheds a tear

i'm just picking things i think of, that may not be things
people have seen yet

the color of money (1986) ~ a movie about shaping a young
tom crusie's energetic flakiness into something bankable

bulletproof (1986) ~ a solid contender for the worst movie
i've ever seen; gary busey's catchphrase is literally
"butthorn." most singularly awkward rape scene ever. gary
busey is so lit he can't deliver any of his lines in
anything but his tense wheezy staccato... the model work is
so bad it steals the spotlight for stretches and breaks the
flow of the movie. i will never watch this again unless i am
incredibly drunk.

hackers (1992) ~ i guess this is my favorite movie?

limitless (2011) ~ it's not bad

Executive Decision (1996) ~ have you ever tried to count how
many movies there are about "The President Is On An
Airplane" ? well here's the same vibe but let's switch it up
a little for once

On Deadly Ground (1994) ~ Steven Seagal doesn't do good
movies, and this isn't one of his best movies. Wait for the
barfight with the guy who had a brief role in Goodfellas
culminating in an awkard vibe shift to Seagal giving a
speech and trying to sound deep. Then turn the movie off,
and delete it.

Disco Godfather (1976) ~ Blaxploitation movie about PCP and
weed called "Charmin," some good terrible acting from people
pretending to flip out on PCP, all that. the opening dance
number starts to feel like the waiting room in a doctor's
office after two minutes, and it lasts ten. but the movie
picks up straight after

it's kind of hard to go wrong with rewatching airplane
(1980)

if you want to know what it's like inside my head, well,
this is a decent analogy -- the plot is almost secondary to
all sorts of extreme silliness going on in the background.
like, if i have to remind myself to take care of something
more than two or three times, that's it -- i'm bored of the
reminder itself. then it turns into the intercom voices at
the airport. stop and shop is arriving at 3:30. stop and
shop is arriving at 3:30. 3:30 is arriving at stop and shop.
don't start with that 2:30 shit again betty

overall less clever than airplane, however. airplane also
does not have five-minute bursts of beardstroking because we
feel that tingle that says there's a cool band name a few
layers deep in this word. or stretches of coding that feel
like a fever dream. or saying "fuck it i'm exhausted
managing this brain-thing" and posting anything i think of
here until my brain is exhausted enough to be useful.

Gone In 60 Seconds (2000) ~ nicholas cage movie with lots of
nice cars

Moonwalkers (2015)

would you like to see someone pretend to be stanley kubrick
so his roommate can get the gig producing the faked apollo
moon landing? and ron perlman incandescent with rage after
discovering he's just been dosed with acid?
