somehow I forgot Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and Monty
Python and the Holy Grail!

19. The VVitch (2015)
20. Gremlins (1984)'

are out. Fear and Loathing is top 10 easily. Holy grail
somewhere in top 20.

Dunno how I forgot, I've seen those no less than 15 times
each.

Well you won't get me to poopoo Alien, it's one of my
favorites too.

I can see why Interstellar would be a "questionable" pick
though, it seems like the movie was a bit divisive.

I like everything Nolan has made, they're all good movies--
but none of them were *great*--until Interstellar. It was my
personal favorite movie of the last decade. It just worked
for me.

Watching for the first time, was absolutely captivated by
the prospect of the 3 different planets they could settle
on. "I can't wait to see see what they're gonna find." The
narrative hook was so strong. It's rare for me to be THAT
excited for "what's going to happen next."

The emotional core of the movie between McConaughey and his
family kept it grounded, and felt very real to me. The scene
where he's getting the messages from his family was my
favorite bit of the whole film.

The action set pieces, though somewhat brief, were extremely
intense and well earned through the storytelling.

The music was fucking amazing.

I've got a high tolerance for abstract storytelling, so I
enjoyed the ending as well.

I like the list. Everything there 4/5 for me except holy
grail which is 5/5 and shoulda been on mine.

Labyrinth is awesome and almost made my list too.

Lost Highway fave lynch movie? It's rare to see it as number
1, but I do love it.

agreed about Robocop 2

I think I watched R 1 more times that's why

similar case with Iron Man 3 - it's not that bad, but not as
good as 1 and 2 - so it's not on the list. Gwyneth Paltrow
is not my fav actress btw.

T1 - classic dark thriller
T2 - too much cheese and Sarah Connor gets on my nerves. I
view it as an extended version of a Guns N Roses MTV video.
Not bad but not great either.
T3 - almost self-parodic, quite a lot of [dark] humour, very
intense since minute 1, not stopping,
Judgement-Day-begins-in-a-few-hours dynamics, Robert
Brewster pressing the key, Terminatrix.....it's just my fav
Terminator movie.

I thought about Christoper Walken now and how I never have
time to get back to exploring his filmography, so adding

The Dead Zone

to the list

if you count goofs and plot holes in both T2 and T3 - T3
might surely have more of them but idc. I've watched T3 lots
of times and it's always fun to watch.

certainly will watch that then

p.s. the other day i saw Prey, on Disney+
it's great
of course then i also rewatched Predator 1 (will have to
watch 2, as well). without the nostalgia factor, it might be
the lesser movie. at least it's not sexist, just over the
top macho, which just rules

@big lol I try not to watch all the other Predator movies,
all the AvsP could be good - if they were made in EU ? Not
in Hollywood ? Lol so sure about this, the more I consider
that. Imagine Trier doing that.....hahah

The "franchise" is so mixed these days so..

I usually just come back to Aliens 1, 2, 3, 4 [ yes, even 4
is funny to myself] and Predator 1 and 2. And I sometimes
try to watch Prometheus.

I really hoped for Prey being something, tried to watch it a
few times, but no. So woke beyond plot reasons. Just
ridiculously sad.

If you're sensitive to that "sexist" shit - be aware of
Predator 2 indeed :)
