What does USAOâ„¢ product say about you as a consumer?

As a man?

> Happy hardcore crap

is this how paradinas felt when he tried to astroturf
footwork into being a thing? you can trust me though; i have
no financial motive. in fact, i'm currently paid hourly, and
i could be working instead of writing this

i get it to some degree; my personal relationship with the
dunDunDUNDRRZzzz hardcore kick be like: at first i found it
distracting. then i'm hooked on some of the better tunes
that feature it and i'm getting used to it. now it's like
hearing a 303 or something; i'm not hung up on it being a
hardcore kick anymore. i'm listening to what they're doing
with it because there is certainly loads of crap to filter
out, especially for a genre that releases comp albums with
titles like "SPEEDBALL Z"

then they are also just wicked thieves. there's a DDR track
that wholesale lifts a section of winnipeg is a frozen
shithole... like, over a minute, wholesale lift. but on top
of this they've gone rossz; they've put strings and
orchestra over it. that, like, alright, this is pretty close
to being a remix, but what you've built on top if it is
actually pretty dope

the one thing i still cannot get into are the tracks with
some perky female singer. afx spoke of girl tracks and boy
tracks; i cannot get into their peak girl tracks. then there
are also a couple tropes from anime theme music that i
cannot stand

overall, it's like in minecraft when you find a vein of gold
or whatnot. you follow the gold, but you still have to cut a
lot of dirt out of the way, and you also know you'll find
the end eventually

haven't yet tho

I like the way he warps it all down at around 10:18 and I
like the little anime anthem voice.

Dunno if I'd listen to it *twice* or anything though.

did you know paradinas found snares, effectively?

["i think he knows," someone from the peanut gallery calls
out]

that i was already on this trip by the time i found that
one, and it explained a lot to me: they're sampling snares
and skrillex and putting it into a blender with anime tropes
and years of harshly-enforced piano lessons.

my thing with planet mu and footwork was... like,
machinedrum sounds professionally produced, but, one of the
first albums he was vamping -- i'll do the courtesy of not
remembering the name or the artist -- sounded, i believe i
said, like a rabbit pooping kick drums all over fruity
loops. what i was really saying was: these sounds are shit,
and we expect some sound design over in idm land, u noe?
shortly after that was "vinyl from a youtube rip" fiasco

i also wasn't terribly into dancehall riddim, either. irony
is, they'll go that way with some tracks and that feels a
little more normal to me now. more irony is, paradinas was
trying to sell some obscure black inner city genre to a
bunch of closet internet nerds. as the hikikomori harajuku
sorts lift a solid minute and a half of a snares track,
because "i'm pretty sure i can take this up a level" -- and,
shit. maybe this is what you wanted? instead of dancehall?
perhaps it's not too late. but he'll have to be a little
more restrained than last time and not just put out the
first few he hears

more irony is people yelling "happy hardcore crap" "gay"
before going off to listen to venetian snares -- i cannot
abide happy hardcore. my hardcore has to be moody [on
mood stabilizers] and ~~smoke crack~~

whatever works.

unrelated to previous tangent ~ this was just
killing me working out today

if you want the one that lifts snares i've posted about it
here twice before; i'm sure you can find it somewhere

and it explained a lot to me: they're sampling snares and

years of harshly-enforced piano lessons.

1) i would like to clarify that i mean all of this quite
literally. sampling snares. and skrillex. and step back a
moment and plots this on your graphing calculator; it works

2) it's more than just sampling

that i do not have... words for this... but i'm sure there
are some

[JUST LIKE! when i was asking about portished and vibert
making rooms resonate more than many other artists, i was
asking about "room modes" and i've read good about that and
16 pages of other crap; chill time]

instead of sampling, you can... i'd call this tracing, i
guess. you load what you're stealing into fruity studio,
turn it down to half volume, then very carefully build
another track on top of it. no actual audio, but...
melodies, riddims. sound design, but then it gets fuzzy

and this actually irritates me, because i can tell it's
something i know under there, but CAN'T QUITE PLACE IT. sota
fujimori, i am looking in your direction. and point a
flaming finger

i haven't deliberately ripped much off myself, did you know?
i simply wasn't interested. i wanted to make my own things,
and i figured it'd come out deeper that way anyways. but
i've been toying with the idea of going full steam in the
opposite direction, and stealing as much as possible. and
i'd only been thinking about sampling -- the
"tracing" concept had not occurred to me. i clearly have a
lot to learn about stealing shit

that i cannot believe how long it took me to get... like, a
shotgun noise is fungible with a sample yelling "put your
